Do i spy a cromwell! (1 Viewer)

As i just said to Terry,it doesn't matter who got him really, just that someone did;)

As you say Frank, that is some explosion to do that to a Tiger, must have been an instant death.

That is one awesome piece, a definite must have, especially with the sign! This my friends is K&C at its creative best. An instant classic. Thanks for listening to collectors Andy. I respect how K&C continually throws in rather obscure pieces amongst the meat and potato types of releases ( ex. Tigers and Shermans which I like too ). Its a release like this that reminds me why I put K&C as #1 on my list. They do it for the love of the hobby and history, not always the buck.

Couldn't agree more:)

Its a great model tank, and a long time in coming. After all, K&C's Wood and Metal Cromwell premiered in 1997, so its been 12 years since Andy made a Cromwell!

Just noticed from the posted pic, does the covered stowage look removable - like the Classic Sherman? Seems to be a gap between it and the Cromwell, although it could just be a shadow.

Hmmmm, might be, if I were to even acknowledge that it existed in the first place, which I don't and haven't. :p

Simon,

We shouldn't indulge him in his little fantasies, which he has now roped Andy into

Typical - me not being able to make the June Show, and that's when Reb promises to get them in.

I hope he's got deep pockets for those G&Ts mate. :D

What new Marder. Or is this part of the leg pulling?

Terry

The British 7th Armoured Division was the only Allied Division to be fully equipped with Cromwells. Otherwise, Shermans were the most common tank in British armoured divisions with the speedy Cromwell commonly used as a reconnaissance tank by the reconnaissance regiments of the British armoured divisions.

The Cromwell was similarily used by the 1st Polish Armoured Division. The Czech Armoured Brigade also had some Cromwells. As far as I can tell, Canadian armoured divisions did not have Cromwells.

Here is a photo of the 10th PSK, 1st Polish armoured division, August 8, 1944 during Operation Totalize near Falaise. Note a column of Shermans and also a column of Cromwells ((peeking out from behind the pier :D:D ))

Terry

Terry:

Thanks.

A Cromwell will be a nice addition to the K&C line up. Useable for Normandy, Market-Garden, winter, etc. A very "British" looking tank - a cool little beastie. Even a die-hard GI Sherman freak would be tempted to buy one.

Of course he doesn't. It's more for my own self gratification. :p
So, did you see a load of Roundheads with this fantasy Cromwell then Rob? :D

Just came across this thread, purely by accident of course you understand.Simon my friend I will accept your apology in one of three forms delivered to my door.1.Shares in Cadbury UK. 2.K&C UK Vouchers 3.Tickets to Strictly come...Boxing,the Big fight.....I meant the boxing.
