In my view the guard dog adds more menace to both photos and more so with the Russian civilians

The snake adds an element of risk to the figure

The dog just completes the scene

Something about hawks they just make medieval figures pop and in the case of the mounted Mongol just makes a figure that can stand on it's own

Mark, you sure have a lot of dogs, and they certainly add more to any scene, my fav is the K & C Aussie Vietnam dog with handler that I have in my Vietnam display.
