Do you mix your K&C? (1 Viewer)

Youngster, that's a classy display you have there.

Btw, if you are into accuracy, you may want to face the timber pole beach obstacle the other way ;)

Thanks, Oz. One of those pieces I picked up on the cheap and figured I'd research later. Never got around to it...

Ken

Do you have pics of K&C alongside K&C to share ... I like JJ too, but I thought they were a pinch small compared to K&C.

OD

You are correct in that the K&C are just a wee bit larger, but if you mix them with the JJ Grenadiers their tall hats make it unnoticable. To me, they look fine together. I am looking forward to comparing the JJ BM series grenadiers with the K&C Hessians. The K&C BR Indians seem the same size as JJ Indians though.

Sorry, I will not be able to take any pictures until later. I am in the process of moving, my current house is too small to display my collection and create dioramas, so everything is packed in boxes. Mike, Mestell, has a large JJ and K&C AWI collection and he might be able to do a side-by-side picture comparison.

Great selection Carlos.

I reckon I count 10 manufacturers:
K&C,
Conte,
ONWTC,
Frontline,
Britains,
Figarti,
NMA,
HB,
Patriot and
Dragon Can-Do (not 100% re this one)

There also appears to be FOV, K&C, and BAR (+ probably a whole lot more) scenic stuff.
Am I close?

Wraith,

You're right on, you know your miniatures.

However, don't have any Dragon Can-Do troops but I also have some old "Imperial" lamp posts weathered up by the master Mark Vuncannon from Build-A-Rama.

I too am with the "desk-man" as well as "H." I approve & implement the "composite" manufacturer display technique! Thanks for the pictures Carlos!

Thanks for the complement Beafighter and It was great seeing you at the West Coaster and you have to go to Chicago this year. You'll have the time of your life.

I have found I usually only have enough money to try and keep up with all of the K&C releases.....if only I could win the lottery:):):):)

I have tried mixing Patriot, I was not happy with the size difference there. I might try a first legion figure up against and see how they mix. Rob

In my Ardennes/Bulge & RAF/USAAF/USMC aviation related dioramas-we are one big "group hug" happy family. I mix it all up with of course some strategic placing of various figures for scale considerations!

I have just taken on this hobby and find it very addicting. I took my son to a toy soldier show and found myself just as intrigued as he was. Subsequently I found myself buying numerous WWII K&C, Britains, Conte and ONTC sets. When I got home I tried to mix and match but I realized that K&C was by far my favorite. As a result I forsee myself selling my Conte, ONTC and britains sets to acquire more K&C sets. From here on out I will be strictly dedicated to K&C purchases unless something spectacular really catches my eye.

Hi Sahara,
Welcome on board to this facinating hobby. I also am primarily a K&C collector, but other manufacturers are definitely up there as well. I don't know what eras you're interested in but take a look at East of India Greek & Persian sets, Britains new Zulu War sets, and JJ miniatures FIW sets. These cover conflicts not presently offered in the K&C catalogue and the figures are top-notch.

Cheers
H
