Does Anyone Else Think That K@C Napoleonic Figures are Quite Expensive????????? (1 Viewer)

Yeah I have at least one of each of the FOV WW2 models. I love em.
It was collecting FOV that got me into K&C when I realised that K&C's AK range would allow me to specialise in an area i was most interested in.

FOV have produced no Afrika Korps vehicles in the 5 years they have been around.

You'd think sooner or later FOV would branch into AK.

I agree, but you have to take into account the time it takes to sculpt, cast, prepare and paint figures, especially of the Napoleonic period. So yes they may appear to be more expensive, but in life you get what you pay for (well mostly anyway!). I can buy one Napoleonic foot flag bearer for the price of a take away curry for my family of four.........both enjoyable.......one lasts forever, whilst the other is gone in half an hour. I know it's only a hobby and some people may think we are mad spending large amounts of money on it, but I choose to do this as opposed to wasting it down the pub every night.

Hi jeff
I understand the production cost side of things,Its just the perception
really of recieveing a large tank etc aswell as asociated figures that
makes me feel i,m getting a better deal [whether reality or not].

I think 99% 0f the population would think we are bonkers spending
money on this stuff ,but as you say thier are plenty of other ways
to dispose of ones wealth :) [both my brothers race cars so that makes
this hobby look cheap ]

Hi Eazy

How does FOV stuff measure up with Figarti and Britains WW 2 stuff
scale wise.

Cheers Rob

I think FOV vehicles in 1/32 scale go well with Britains and ONTC figures.
When I get home i'll check my Figarti SAS jeep up against my FOV jeep and let you know if they are the same.

The FOV figures that come with the vehicles are quite small though and I would say are 1/35 rather than the 1/32 of Britains etc.

Scott - expensive, affordable, or inexpensive are just personal opinions.

That opinion depends on how much an individual has and more important how they decide to spend how much to have what they want to have. I know it’s a bit esoteric but the reality of economics, the study of the transfer of wealth (money), is that everything is worth nothing. It only has value if someone is willing to place a value on it and to give up his or her personal wealth to someone else in order to possess that something.

I have a very reasonable income. To me King & Country are affordable. To someone like Bill Gates, he could afford to buy the company and have all of the company’s talents used to make his own exclusive figures and vehicles for his own personal collection at prices far beyond what I would call affordable to me. He would call it affordable to him as he has so fricken much money and perhaps his value of things is different than my or yours. He and his wife establish foundations funded by themselves personally worth billions of dollars. His version of expensive is also very different than my or yours.

So tell your friend, King & Country is worth what it is worth no more and no less. ;) :)

I think this sums it up. It's all relative. To a 16 year old boy, $25 is expensive, to grown men, not a big deal. From my position, it's priced right, not terribly expensive.

It does have a ring to it.Although it does make him sound like some sort of drug Lord:eek: I also like Napoleron!.Sort of 'Lobbyist Dictator':D

Thanks Eazy ,I,d apreciate it .I,m thinking of getting a few to go
along with the figarti tiger and jeep but have never seen these first hand.
cheers Rob

Hi Vandilay,

I compared the Figarti jeep and the FOV one and they look pretty much the same in size terms. I didn't actually measure them but to the naked eye you cant see much difference.

Thanks Eazy

Sounds good ,close enough is good enough as they say

cheers
