Gettysburg; the second day is the bible regarding that subject, my original copy had been read and reread and thumbed through so many times it was literally falling apart to the point where I bought a second copy.

Al; I could be wrong, but I don't think he ever planned on a day three book.

His work on the first day is very good as well, he'll be missed to say the least.

May well be a third book was never planned. Just wishful thinking on my part. A man who could write such a detailed work on the first 2 days would have done a terrific job with the 3rd day. I guess the 3rd day has been done to death by any number of others but I would have loved to see Pfanz tackle it.:wink2: -- Al

Sorry to hear this. I have read all his books and also had hoped for a book on the events of the 3rd day. Knew it wasn't going to happen but always held out a hope. Chris

Agreed. Very sad to see. The nps had a real nice write up. His son also worked at Fredericksburg Chancellorsville NB and wrote some outstanding books as well. Lucky enough to be on some of the walks he gave during the 150th and he gave an outstanding walk/talk regarding the National Cemetery.
