Just heard of this company while doing a Google search. Are they still in business? Anyone have information on them?

Thanks
Scott

Scott,

There is a reference to them in the 1991 issue of "The Collector's Guide to New Toy Soldiers" by Stuart Asquith. It says that David Sparrow of Northamptonshire produced the first six sets in 1987. The initial sets included the start of the Mascot range and the Ceremony of the Keys box. The range increased to over 30 sets consisting of standard bearers, light infantry, line infantry, civilian figures, and a series of drum horses of the Dragoon regiments. It also mentions a larger, boxed set of Queen Victoria presenting new colors to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. It concludes by saying that they also supply unpainted castings of their range. I have never come across any figures from this company at the West Coaster or Chicago shows, nor have I seen them on eBay.

Thanks for the info Mike, I had never heard of them until yesterday when reading an article from Jim Hillistead.

Hello gentlemen,

You'll find this lovely range of toy soldiers alive and well and still for sale on the website of UK toy and model soldier dealer MKL Mail Order at www.mklmodels.co.uk

Click on the 'Die Cast Model Figures' banner followed by 'S&S Miniatures' and you'll see them in all their glory :)

Cheers,

I strongly recommend investing in a copy of the catalogue, it is almost worth it's weight in gold^&grin
