Hi,

I've just recieved news from Jack Duke, saying that his toy soldier business of 35 years standing will be closing within the next 6 months, and he and his wife, Thelma will be retiring.

he said ..

" Hi John, I have been meaning for some time to get in touch with you to let you know that after 35 years in the business Jack & Thelma of Ducal Traditional Toy Soldiers are in the process of disposing of the remainder of the stock via Ebay.
We foresee that this will take a further 6 months but we are able to meet the orders that still come in.
Although we would like to continue, unfortunately retirement is a must.
If you could give a mention in your next newsletter we would appreciate it.
Regards, Jack Duke "

So there is the lastest news, and if you are wanting to snap up any of their figures, make it quick.
You can view a lot of the range on the website http://www.fort-ducal.co.uk/

regards,

John

Another old stalwart of the new old toy soldier revolution goes into retirement.
Trophy, AQM, Imperial Ducal in some ways it is the passing of an age.
Hopefully the WB gloss stuff and Little Legion, ATS etc will keep the glossy flag flying.

It's a shame, but that's the problem with family run businesses – old age.

This is terrible, I have sent another email as there were a few small pieces I am hoping to obtain before they are gone. I knew something was up. Pretty soon, there will be no more of these wonderful and unique toy soldier companies.
