This is a picture of my Frontline Dutch Red Lancer. Pennant on the end of lance is reversed from the King & Country Red Lancer.

Andy. Somesones got it wrong but I have to check my referance works. I could be wrong but I seem to recall;
Line Lancer pennants white over red.
Guard lancer pennants red over white.
I'll check the books today.
Love those Frontline Lancers.Got a bunch from a real nice guy sometime ago.Can't recall his name???

My color references show the Dutch lances white/ red pennants. The first five senior squadrons were organized after the Russian 1812 campaign has the Old Guard with the other three designated has the Young Guard.

The eight squadrons were reorganized in 1813 with eight total squadrons each of 250.

In May 1814 the senoir old guard were retitled Corps Royal des Chevau- Legers Lanciers de France with just over 500 by August. The Young Guard was disbanded.

The Regiment rallied to Napoleon in April 1815 under the title Regiment de Chevau- Legers Lancers de la Garde Imperial, incorporating the Elba Squadron of the Polish Lancers and fought at Waterloo.

My opinion from uniform plates is the Polish Lancers used red/white pennants and the Red lancers (Dutch) had white/red pennants. I think either would be appropriate by Waterloo because of the merging of Lancer squadrons. John

Lead, Tradition would favour fubar in this instance. My reading has said that it is red over white. There are always exceptions to disprove the rule.

Yours aye!

So let me see the Dutch some how screwed up? How did this come to hand?:confused:

Dutch Lancer's uniform closely resembled that of the Polish Lancers, but in scarlet faced with dark blue and laced with yellow or gold. The metal plates were a little different from the Polish Lancers also. J

I love the colors on these troops. Frontline has reworked there horses on some of the other lines now. They look great! Ah, well someday I will have all of them!

Glad they have a good home John.:)
