Early K&C US Paras (1 Viewer)

Can anyone out there tell me which of the Airfix US Paras were produced by K&C? I've only seen 4 or 5 together in any one photo and was curios as to which had been K&C'd.

I took a look at these and looked at Bill Sager's site and the only ones that really stand out as possible K & C are 2 (could have been used for DD 04 and 17, but those are not para sets) and 10 through 13, which could have been the inspiration for DD 26.

Brad, he is referring to the early glossy 82nd Airborne from 1993. I hadn't realized it until his post, but these are homages to the airfix figures whose numbers I indicated in the post above, just like the early Waffen SS sets (WS01 and WS02) are homages to Airfix Afrika Corps figures.

The officer advancing in the EA range seems to be in homage to both the Airfix advanding Eighth army officer with pistol and soft cap and a similar figure from the Britains Deetail series. The current K and C figure is much more advanced though before I receive any incomming. It is good to see such homage paid in my opinion as unlike the generation of the `1950's and 1960's who had boxes of hollowcast rare and valuable Britains figures delivered each Christmas and birthday the children of the 1970's grew up with plastic Airfix and Britains Deetail. This was because the nanny state decided that lead in the hollowcast figures was poisonous and so stopped production of lead based figures in 1966. So the whole modern toy soldier industry owes these early manufacturers a debt of gratitude. I am not sure what the generation of the early 2000's will look back to in 2030 though.

Now that I see your post, you're right. I knew 11 and 12 looked familiar: those are the ones I have.

The early Airfix figs had some great detail for kids toys, and this set was one of their best, No 8 is my fav.

Rumour has it that that particular figure was loosely based on John Wayne from the Longest Day. It is very cool.
