Will K/C be doing any more of early war Waffen Series german grey uniform soldiers in the near future?? all retired at this time.....latest camoflaged SS with the "blue" pants does not seem to have the realism......Has anyone purchased these newest SS soldiers..and...What is the opinion of forum members on the uniforms and their accuracy.......all imput appreciated....Thank you Vezzolf

Hey Vezzolf, I Saw The New Ss Germans Two Weeks Ago And I Am Not To Excited About The New Colors,i Really Like The Older Set Colors, The Blue On The Pants Kinda Looks A Little Like Conte Wwii Germans Sculpting Is Great Though, Just Not Liking The New Paint Scheme At All....sammy

The "late war" german regular army had a diverse uniforms with the blue and camo mixed uniforms..

German army uniforms color depends on year of war. WSS generally followed Army unforms with addition of cammoflage from early war onwards

1939-40
Field gray jackets and stone gray trousers (K C do all their germans in this early war scheme, if not wearing cammies)
field gray was green-blue tinted gray: stone gray was dark neutral gray
1941-43
all field gray uniforms ( mid war field gray was green gray - less blue in it)
1944-45
field gray uniforms for most part. This became a brown olive shade of field gray. Some use of italian grey wool (more neutral gray)and steel gray (blue tinge)wool.

Also 1943-45 use of reed green HBT uniforms (summer) which faded to a turquoise gray.(unfade these are a dark green shade of FG)

Not sure about the accuracy of the uniforms, but I got most of these new early war WSS simply because they were well sculpted, finished and painted:) Also like the current FJ and looking forward to any late war additions to this range, eg with camo smocks. Looking forward to the new Germans from Normandy '44 out next month, but would like to see a few in typical "weapons aimed" poses, though I do like the ones creeping about.

Normandy FJ's would be interesting in cammo smocks, as regards poses creeping around and aiming would seem more in line for the FJ's, some great pictures floating around of them in the Normandy battle:cool:
On another matter , is it just me, or has anyone noticed that the newer K&C WWII figures seem like they have been dieting:D Got the german photgrapher
set and the figures seemed thinner and smaller, than older figures, noticed it with the DDay single figures and other waffen ss released last year and the the big red ones this year as well. Compared the figure from the 88 halftrack
with one with the same pose from the old 88 and the figure was a head shorter...Are the figures geting a bit skinny and small compared to the figures from a couple of years ago?

Odd since I noticed the early DD MP on motorbike, though well done, seemed a bit small compared to his peers.. Maybe K&C needed to trim a bit here and there due to the recent upsurge in commodity/metals prices!

Was watching Deep Space Nine last night, episode where Quarks brother goes to work in a rival's bar , Quark shouts over to the rival "Watch Ron (Quarks brother) , he shaves the Latinum".. :D:D:D Have to be a Star Trek Fan to get that one. The other totally unrelated funny line in the next episode, came when Quark was trying to avoid going on a dangerous mission, "Send Ron instead , he's only got a Son, I've got a business"
Gotta love the Ferengi's.

Yes definately agree the newer figures are somewhat smaller. The new marching DAK figure cf his earlier brothers...
Guess some guys were smaller than others! The smaller sizes make them almost between 1/30(classic K and C) and 1/32 .....

The only german soldiers to wear blue gray unifroms were Luftwaffe ground troops.
Despite common misconceptions Fallschirmjager wore Feild gray (green gray) jump trousers and helmets in combat.

I don't know where the "blue" stuff is coming from. I think it is a description of neutral stone grey trousers. They may look "blue" cf green gray?

Early feild gray does have a blueish tint to the green gray (appearing almost turquoise)
Polizei had a very intense shade of blue green feild gray
