East of India Newsletter, September 2008.
Hello All,
I had intended to post this newsletter with pictures to this forum a few days ago, but I have been so busy preparing for the Chicago show, time prevented me from doing so. We should have been on a flight by now to O’Hare but due to a typhoon 8 hitting Hong Kong last night we are stuck here at home waiting for news of the flight arriving here from Singapore to pick us up and get us there. Anyway at least this gives me some time to give you all the details!
As most of you know; 2008 so far has been a difficult year for our company. We had planned to launch our new Roman range along with some other figures to add to our existing ranges in the summer of this year but due to our previous factory having internal problems within their higher management we were forced to go out and find a new avenue for production. This we duly did and we are proud to announce new 26 sets to be released during this autumn. 23 sets of Romans and 3 of ancient Greeks. All of these figures will be on display in our room and at the show on the Sunday and we will also have limited stock at the show to sell.
Because it takes a few weeks to pack them all up we will start sending out shipments in early October to our dealers as soon as we arrive back in Hong Kong. Most of our dealers already have these figures shown on their sites and they are available in many cases for preorder.
We hope to have our normal room (Room 4227) for room trading so please drop by and have a sneak peek and some refreshments if you are attending. I say “we hope to have our normal room” as it looks like the hotel renovations are running late (I know that running late feeling only too well this year!) and maybe our normal room has been striped bare and has a team of construction workers bearing jack hammers working in it. We will find out tomorrow!
Also I gather that the bar is closed yet again (for the second year on the trot) and that they have erected a tent for liquid refreshment at the rear of the hotel. Well I guess that if our room is full of construction workers we can always hire a tent when we arrive and pitch it next to the bar tent! By doing this we would certainly prevent a lot of wear and tear to the hotel carpets!
