Here we go again! Tonight I had yet another auction canceled for
"Hateful or Discriminatory"! Funny thing it was for a King & Country item I
bought last week on.......Ebay!

This just shows why I rate Ebay "The Worst Run Company in America"
when speaking with "PowerSeller" No-Customer Service I was informed than no figure or miniature can be sold on Ebay wearing a German Uniform!

When I advised them this was silly and that there were currently scores of items running they said "Oh No" Nothing mentioning Hitler, or with any kind of German uniform or swastika was allowed. A quick search revealed 398 items with pictures of Hitler and swastika's! Coins, stamps, military items, figures, you name it.

I have requested a call back tomorrow, and I will call their corporate office in the morning. I really don't expect to get anywhere but I do have a talent for this sort of thing.

Can you image the idiot that decided a german uniform on a toy soldier was unacceptible?

Of course under WW2 German Dagger you have 115 listings! Thank goodness they didn't have any of those toy soldiers back then......we might have lost the war!

Customer Service is usually the key to a successful company. In this case their success is pure dumb luck, no customer service visible. However there
stock is mired at $21 where it has been for the last year! One year target is......$22! Earnings are flat, and even with almost no debt they pay no dividen and can't move!

Old Meg Whitman really ran them into the ground......and now she wants to be gov of California!

With her in charge that place would surely fall into the ocean!:D

Good luck to anyone selling any German Figures!

Just to clarify this is taken directly from ebays offensive material policy:

restricted: Listings

Models of World War II German military vehicles - countless

Action figures in World War II German uniforms - dozens

Hollywood-style films with Nazi subject matter - who can count?

Eva Braun’s home movies - What?

"Mein Kampf" and Hitler’s Second Book - 58 currently listed!

banned:

Books by these Nazi authors:

Easily found....but who would want them?

- Alfred Rosenberg
- Baldur von Schirach
- Hermann Göring (Goering)
- Dr. Joseph Goebbels
- Hans Zoberlein

Uniforms, uniform components, weapons, or other items that bear the Nazi swastika or SS runes

I guess they missed all those WWII German Daggers!

And last but not least:

Listings where images are edited or cropped to try and hide Nazi markings or insignia

Yeah like there are none of those listed!

ebay is becoming worthless.....its just not worth the bother!

Well, as long as you are having fun:rolleyes::D It never ceases to amaze me how badly run companies can continue as an industry leader simply because of size and market position, long after they lost what originally made them a successful company.

I wonder if someone reported your auction.

As to their service, and their responsiveness in general, I don't think the respond very much. From time to time I look at their discussion boards, and they're filled with negative comments about the technical changes they make, to say nothing of policies. The company may monitor those, but I don't think they react to them at all. I've emailed their support links several times about the new auction pages-I can't see the details the sellers enter on the page, they don't show up-but haven't received a response yet.

They're probably making up in volume what they might lose in disgruntled users.

I think they've really set themselves up for someone to come in and take away some of the core, second market sales business, the real online auction and flea market business, that was their original market.

I was initially skeptical about Treefrog successfully developing a specialty online marketplace, but now I am beginning to think the time of the specialty online marketplaces has come.

What was the auction John?

......................................................................................................

One of the German Staff Cars from King & Country. It has only been sold on

ebay maybe 50 times! Currently the LAH61 is back on, two more sold a few

weeks ago......yet I have had that piece rejected several times.

I have cut my volume and sales on ebay by 75%.

We are testing the Treefrog site as we speak...we expect it to be running in time for the Chicago Show (so we can promote it there).

You have to be kidding. Someone must be mad at you. Maybe you could sel it under a different identity.

They simply do not care. All of their current decisions simply go against their
customers (the sellers) who pay all their fees. What business can succeed when they ignore their customer base? ebay continues to make rule after rule that benefits the buyer....the person that pays no fees.

Here is but one example sellers can no longer charge for insurance on an item they sell. Ebay policy is item must reach buyer in perfect condition or he gets a refund. Lets say you sell a $300 item and ship it to the buyer and it is damaged in shipment. Buyer refuses to use insurance, contacts ebay who issues him a full refund. You cannot use insurance because person receiving the item must file the claim. End result ebay collects their fees, buyer gets money back, and seller winds up with damaged item less selling fees.

If ebay wants to cater to the buyers fine.....let them pay the fees. If I am paying the bills I want to receive the service. The sellers carry the load pay all the fees and receive a complete lack of customer service in return. For years I had to deal with negitive feedback from deadbeats that failed to pay for items they had won.

But as I said before their stock is mired at $21 every business deal they have tried with the exception of Paypal has been a failure, the only reason they succeed is because it is a cash cow money comes in every day while they do nothing (outside of keeping the computers running) to boost sales.

If these idiots had locks on their doors they wouldn't have keys.

Well that may be, but rules in our society should be applied to everyone. You should not be allowed to purchase an item one day, and forbidden to sell the same item the next day.

I gave them two options:

1.Tell me what I could do to relist the item within the rules...(no picture, change heading)

or

2.Refund my original purchase price so I experience no monetary loss, since they violated their own rule by allowing the first sale to me.

Two simple options for a problem they created by making rules and then applying them in an discriminatory fashion. I found myself having a discussion with a supervisor with the ability of a five year old to grasp the situation. It would have been ok is she had the language skills of the average 5 year old....unfortunately she did not.

One thing that bugs the heck out of me is their imposition of a ceiling on shipping costs. I just listed the other day a box set of jazz recordings. Shipping is usually around $9 or so. These idiots tell me I can only charge $3 for it. If it was just a single CD, I would agree, but it's not. It's a six by six box, with a booklet and three Cds, not to mention I have to buy the shipping box. So, I just indicated in the listing that shipping is still $9 and please ignore what ebay tells me to do. Just annoying.

Well lets just hope it arrives in one piece! Can you imagine if it gets damaged and the buyer refuses to file an insurance claim? You will wind up paying fees, losing the money received for the sale, looking at a bunch of broken CD's. But you had better be nice to the buyer (who refused to file the claim for insurance) because you will need his permission to cancel the sale and get your selling fees returned...............his permission?

Thank god old pierre didn't come up with the idea for something really important......or we would be in really big trouble.

Can you imagine if old meg becomes gov of california....she will probably tax breathing.

They seem to be treating the vendors more and more like companies selling high volumes rather than individuals selling a few or several items. Of course, there are now mostly recognizeably regular vendors on e-bay and a much higher proportion of buy it now items at full retail price than even 2 or 3 years ago. It's just not the secondary auction marketplace it once was. And that's a bad thing.

You're right, they're complacent, and that's why I say, they are poised for a fall, if someone can start up a rival site.

The TF auction site is a good idea, but I'm talking about something aimed at a broader audience. If someone could start up another general, online auction website, and offer the kind of service and fees that eBay did in their early days, I think he could take away a lot of eBay's business. Then they would have to adapt or die.

couldn't agree more, recently sold a figure that went overseas, gave the customer 2 shipping options but, specified on the invoice if he went 1st class I could not accept responsibility for damage. I've since dropped the option because the buyer wanted 1/2 his money back because the figure was damaged, I reffered him to statement on invoice, he filed a claim with paypal for half. Paypal told me to give him ALL his money back! even the buyer thought it was outragous and never followed thru.
PLEASE, PLEASE give me any other viable option than paypal and ebay!!!!

Maybe they should go back to just selling pez dispensers:D

Why don't you chaps pressuruze your representatives and get the Competition Tribunla to break them up for being a monopoly. Didn't they do that to the Bell Telephone Company back in the eighties?

Given another option I would leave them in an instant.....and I have been with them since the begining. In the early days I had to send them a check and work off the balance until it was time for another payment....they didn't accept credit cards. I was also given an opportunity to purchase stock when it first went on the market.
Now they don't want my business......but they do ask my opinions from time to time.....they just don't listen.
