eBay Moving Away From PayPal (1 Viewer)

I got those emails Brad...
I understood it to say that it's just a new option...
and Paypal was still available...
do they plan to drop Paypal?
Paypal is huge...used by millions...
plus millions of other companies...
if both are offered in the future...
and the cost is about the same...
I will probably stick with Paypal...
never had a problem with them...

Payments intermediation will bring significant benefits for eBay sellers.
You can expect a simplified pricing structure, more predictable access to funds, and most sellers can expect their costs of payments processing to be reduced.

the last part of this sentence is all that interests me so far...lowering the fees...

It's just a new option; Paypal is in place as an option at least until 2023, which is 5 more years.

Paypals fees are brutal...
their "International conversion charge" is a rip off...
then we also pay on the transfer of funds for the shipping charge...
which we already give Ebay another 10% on that already...
hard to break even between the two of them...

I will admit their shipping discount does help a little bit...

has anybody used Zell on any application yet?

wasn't that the company to replace Paypal as Ebay's money transfer option...

I hear them advertising on the radio pretty heavy...

but I thought Ebay said it would be years before they swapped over...

They turned me in to the "Federal Bureau of Assets Management" or something like that! I sold five scratchbuilt Sudanese style, 15mm desert buildings for colonial war gaming, and next thing I know, my Paypal is locked, and the Feds are calling me, about why I am selling "Real Estate in the Sudan"!!! Seriously. I said: "It was a $25 sale!" (evidently, that seemed legit to them). "They are miniatures! For war gaming!" That resulted in questions about why I was building "mock ups" For "Tactical excercises? Training?" I went off on the Federal woman. Needless to say, I started selling wargame buildings on TMP marketplace from then on, and opened a new Paypal, LOL I tell people: "DO NOT, EVER, POST IN THE PAYPAL COMMENTS SECTION when you pay me! Do NOT say "For Afghan Stronghold/Sudanese Headquarters/etc etc" LOL

Good Lord that is priceless. Our Feds at work. Jeez, just idiotic, why someone would not actually look at the auction. What the hell is the world coming to???????

I only buy and not sell, so PayPal has done just fine by me. And it has never been hacked.
I use it wherever I can. not just eBay. In fact I buy very little on eBay.

I got too smart, talking on the phone with them. When I asked "How in the HELL can I sell property in the Sudan for 25 bucks?" I didnt know that the market value for property in the Sudan owned by foreigners is about that, lol. When she said "You are getting awful angry over a 25 dollar Paypal hold" I went ape, LOL! I yelled that I needed the money to complete the "physics package" on my ...well, times have changed, maybe I shouldnt repeat what I said, these days you never know. :D

You should have seen the time I paid a guy for a lot of golf discs for my freind Herbert, who had no paypal.

Seller's last name was "Green". The clown wrote in the comments section "8 grams, Herb, Green" (8 grams meant all the "Roc" discs were 180 grams in weight). For some reason, paypal rejected the payment.

Just never leave comments The paypal people told me that comments are always under survaillance
