Ok, here is my monthly scream. Sold a individual a perfect mint $9.99 price Marx Warriors of the World Cowboy in box with card, perfect. Charged $5.50 shipping, sent it out. He gives me a positive feedback but a 1 star for shipping and handling over 50 cents. Are you kidding me?

I don't like the "star" ratings and I think eBay should s***-can them. As a buyer, it's a pain to have one more thing to fill out. Wasn't the existing feedback sufficient?

eBay is becoming less and less convenient, as time goes by. The search filters have been changed again, and my searches return far more than I want them to. I go to the site less frequently than I did before, because browsing there is becoming more cumbersome.

Prost!

Not sure I follow? Was his gripe that you over charged him for shipping? It is a small amount I know but if he bought 10 things over a course of a week and was charged and extra 50 cents on each item, that is $5. Over a year it would be $260.00, thats a lot of dough !! of course it could also be the only thing he buys this month and just likes to have a moan.

It has been a long time since I have bought on eBay as it just isn't fun anymore and they bargains are harder to find as everyone wants full price. It's isn't really the auction house it once was more like an online mall.

Basically, he was overcharged 50cents, I didn't even notice it as I do my best to put in fair shipping using the USPS estimator. I just think if he was that upset to give me 1 star for 50cents, he should have emailed me, I would have gladly refunding the pennies!!

I guess I just accept as a buyer s/h, it seems there are some who think if shipping isn't free, then all shipping is too high?

Mostly I am a buyer but I understand your frustration. If you listed the shipping charges, they are what they are. Unfortunately Ebay and other similar sites attract all manner of unsophisticated or, dare I say, even not very bright participants. I know it sounds odd but he may have even thought the rating was for how much your shipping for the item cost relative to other stated s/h.

So sorry you had that happen.

I just had a lunatic fringe exchange about two weeks ago with yet another Canadian buyer (not that I have a problem with Canadians in general but I've had more problems with them than any others on eBay).

It was a crazy back and forth regarding box size, flat rate vs standard priority, packing materials to be used, on and on over $2.65.

At some point you reach a limit, you know?

You do the best you can and if that's not good enough, block 'em and distribute their user id so others won't have to deal with them.

And, what's his user ID?

Yo Scott, Toms point he sold a perfect model for $9.99 and it was 50cents over on postage, do me a favour:mad:. If I buy a decent Stadden model I always throw the seller an extra £2.00 or $5.00 to cover the postage, after all he has to pack and go to the post office. Whats this ebay is no fun anymore, and you want a bargain, if someone has paid £50.00 for a model or set you cannot expect to buy it for £9.99. I think the buyers think the sellers get the items for nothing and should give them away, and if you dont think its not fun or some good buys have another look at my Stadden albums;). I think its suberb ebay, bought models from the four corners of the planet, cannot do that without ebay.
Bernard.

I understand it is only 50cents but some people are tight as a fishes !!

Currently what I am looking at on ebay are selling way above what they are worth. Not saying bargains can't be had, just not in what I am looking for.
