Hello All,

Here a new one for eBay.

I just had two of my auctions pulled by eBay because my 1/6 scale Action Figures are armed with knifes.

It appears this happened because I listed the items Worldwide and the U.K was offended.

There is a new international agreement in the U.K. that doesn't allow the importation of knifes. And eBay's automated system saw my 1/6 Action Figures, K-Bar Combat Knife as a Commonwealth threat

I wounder how the eBay World will soon view are armed to the teeth toy soldiers.

They probably think that some bellies are softer than plastic:D:D

Wow:eek: So locally made knives are ok but foreign ones are not? Does that include pocket knives, carving knives, steak knives, flatware knives and pocket knives, no matter the size? What is your government up to mates?;):D

You really need to watch those 1/6 K-Bars. I lost a finger packing some the other day :) I've found that the best way to list on eBay these days is to be as vague as possible with the item description. That way the eBay police may not notice it.

Maybe someone at eBay read Gulliver's Travels, and saw a possible threat :D

Imagine that........your scaring Ebay again!

At least they are cancelling someone elses auctions for a change!:D

I'm not worried anyway.........I haven't got anything listed!:)

That's interesting TSB, I see your point here.

I have 4 items up that come with K-Bars. The two that were canceled had pictures of the K-Bar and refured to the Knife in my discription. One had the knife described but no picture and it was fine. And one had the picture but no discription of the knife and it to was fine.

To be fair to eBay, what they did was remove only the listing in the U.K., that is they canceled my 10 cent U.K. visability option and my Worldwide shipping discription. I removed the pictures and discriptions of the K-Bars and now it allowed back in the U.K.

I guess what the U.K. is trying to do is stop those Combat , Bowie type knifes. The type you see on late night shopping channels, that sell for a Saw Buck no pun intended

Thats a really good question, I don't think they know themselves half of the time...

I wish they would take such a tough stance on the hordes of immigrants pouring into the country everyday...

I have been surfing through the German EBay site for the last couple of weeks. At first I was looking for Marklin locomotives and flat cars. I found a couple of good deals and now I am just hooked on Marklin locomotives and rolling stock and the German EBay site has some really good deals. One of the good things about EBay and PayPal.

I use the google translation page http://translate.google.com/ when I find something that I am interested in so that I can understand it, I took German for two years in high school but that was 40 years ago and I have not spoken any German since.

I was quite suprised by all of the EU required notices concerning private sales, refunds, postings, possible dangers, etc. So the comment about one world wide government coming is not too far off base.

Is this for real? Are there laws regarding toy soldier knives?
:confused::confused:

Someone should tell them knives are NOT the weapon of choice of criminals... and that 1/6 scale knives are not only small, they are made of PLASTIC!
:p

I wonder when they'll forbid my toy soldier Vikings, after all they carry knives, swords, axes, spears, etc.
:D

Cheers...

I love the eBay Germany site - how do you think I got so many incredible tin tanks at such great prices??? I built a solid collection on that site.

eBay is just ridiculous with these policies.

If you contest the pulled auctions with Trust and Safety, you will get nowhere. They are the eBay Theological Police and never side with a seller no matter how much logic you use.

"But it is a 1/6th scale knife made of rubber". "If it is a knife with a blade no matter the material, it cannot be sold"... is their likely arguement.

What offends me most is that other nations laws are stopping our business. Who cares what someone in the UK, Germany, Italy or France buys? I don't, that's for their customs officers to deal with so long as I am not breaking any US laws.
