Ebay's new mandatory "managed payments" system... (1 Viewer)

I sold something yesterday and before I could invoice the buyer he paid for the items and I have to send him a refund on shipping. With PayPal that was easy but I don’t see anything for that in the new system. Any thoughts?

Brad,
There is a way to issue a partial refund through the managed payments program.................I think you can walk yourself through it by following the prompts, or go onto the Ebay site and click on have someone call me and they are great about that, they call you within a few minutes.....................

George,

I looked at the eBay site but couldn’t find the answer. I may have to call them.

When you log into your account, at the top you'll see a tab that says "contact us/help with issues" or words to that effect, just walk through the options you see as you're looking for "managed payments refunds" and you can take it from there.

I called and a rep walked me through it, you can issue partial refunds to the buyers method of payment, it used to be a lot easier to just do it myself via his paypal account, but you no longer have access to the buyers paypal account now with the managed payments system.................

So today Ebay was supposed to make a deposit/transfer funds to my account and they sent me a message saying the bank declined the payment, please check your account information on file to make sure the information is correct.

What?

They've made about 20 payments, the information is correct................the message says if the information is correct, contact the bank.

I was on hold for 25 minutes with my bank, they finally take my call and tell me "No payment attempt was made today".............

I go back to Ebay, customer service is shut down; no outgoing calls to Ebay users, no live chat is available either.

Hmmmmm..........then I noticed this;

"[FONT=&quot]Some sellers may notice a delay with payments being available in their eBay account. We're looking into the issue and will have it fixed soon. "

Yeah, great, so much for this being a smooth transition..................now they have to figure out the problem on their end.................

Like I've said 1,000 @#$%ing times; IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.

LEAVE THE SYSTEM ALONE TO AVOID NONSENSE LIKE THIS.

So how long now before they straiten out the problem I wonder..............

I miss direct deposit into my Paypal account...I have to check daily to see if my sales were "processed" and "completed"...so far...no problems...but the volume I do is nothing compared to yours and other big sellers...I miss Paypal for handling the selling...

Wait until you see the mental gymnastics you have to go through to refund someone, the money you refund no longer comes directly out of your paypal account, it comes from the available funds Ebay is holding for you and if there is no money there, the refund gets held up until there is.

I spoke earlier in this thread about how this new system is not that bad; I shot myself in the foot with those comments.................trying to get this mess straitened out is a hassle, my bank is telling me they did not get the funds and there is no one available at Paypal customer service to tell me what exactly is going on.........and another transfer is on deck tomorrow....................
