Empire Day!
Empire Day in 1939 took place on May 20th, so 77 years ago I only know that as I was made aware whilst visiting RAF Hendon yesterday.
Did you know, that the first Empire Day took place on May 24th 1902, the Birthday of Queen Victoria? This became an annual event right up until 1958, which was the final year the event took place under the name of Empire Day. After that, it became known as Commonwealth Day.

To mark what was Empire Day and to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the Quintinshill Rail Disaster on may 22 1915, we are making just 12 of our EM - 1501 The Quintinshill Royal Scots Memorial sets available at a reduced price of just £165.00 (Standard RRP is £215).
That equates to just £27.50 per figure.
Plus, once all 12 are sold, we will be donating £100 to the RAF Benevolent Fund as a very dear friend of mine is taking part in a sponsored bike ride from John O'Groats to Lans End for this worthy charity.
Be quick if you want one as we only have 12 available at this special price. Here is the link: http://www.empiremm.co.uk/The-Royal-Scots-Quintinshill-Memorial-Set
Thank you.
