Having read many posts and spoken with several collectors over the last couple of weeks, it has become clear to me that collectors around the globe are finding the rising cost of figures from the majority of manufacturers to be unsustainable and restrictive to their budgets.
To follow our company ethos of being a manufacturer that listens to and reacts to collectors concerns and comments I am pleased to be able to make the following announcement.
With effect from 9am on Friday July 1st, Empire Military Miniatures will be amending the prices for all new releases and all currently available items DOWNWARD!
Yes, you have read that correct, we are actually moving our price point down.
Prices are now as follows:
Single Foot Figures £29.99 / $39.00 / €38.00
Mounted Figures £69.99 / $90.00 / €85.00
2 Figure Sets £59.99 / $78.00 / €76.00
Machine Gun Sets £99.99 / 129.00 / €120.00
Memorial Sets £149.99 / $199.00 / €180.00
Red Cross Dog £45.00 / $69.00 / €65.00.
This is NOT A SALE; these prices will be in place for the next 12 months minimum. Why? Please allow me to explain.
The reasons behind this change are many, some involving a little bit of careful and well timed business planning / management and some being just plain common sense for the hobby.
1. When the Dollar / Sterling was high last week pre Brexit, we pre purchased some currency. This gives me the ability to pre plan my manufacturing costs for the next 6 to 12 months and was a prudent strategy in light of where we are now in terms of Sterling.
2. Empire has cut back on its advertising and shifted that budget to be able to support the collectors.
3. Empire has also reduced its UK show expenses by joining forces with a key UK show retailer, Maison Militaire to act as our show representatives in the UK.
4. Moving forward, we will be using slightly less expensive boxes and packaging. This, along with the reduced marketing costs enables us to reward the collector.
5. I will NOT be attending the Chicago show this year, a massive saving I am passing on to the collectors.
Empire is NOT in trouble! We continue to draw new collectors every month. Furthermore, I need you to be aware that some figures are now down to very low stocks indeed.
We are already planning some new ranges for 2017, have a wealth of new figures sculpted and ready for pre-production and our worldwide retailers continue to stock and sell our ranges as normal, just at a more comfortable price point for you.
I truly hope this sits well with the people that truly matter in our hobby, you the collector.
Yours Truly,
Malcolm Watson.
