Been watching this series the last two weeks & would recommend it
ENEMY AT THE DOOR was a British television series with a short life, but one that is long remembered. The groundbreaking series portrays the fear and confusion felt by the residents of the Channel Islands during the Nazi occupation in WWII. Using archival footage and a 1940s cinematography style, the drama utilises both harsh realism and stylised filmmaking techniques. The gifted cast includes Alfred Burke and Simon Cadell. Features the complete series.

Sounds interesting. Must have been a somewhat bizarre situation for both the residents and the Germans. Were these islands taken back on D-day or were they bypassed? As an aside, I remember a very creepy movie "The Others" was set on one of the channel islands.

I could never understand why we left it till the end of the war??? I have had a look around at all the fortifications they made interesting islands must have been tough for the islanders

I think the Allies played it well as the German spent a lot of time building defences & trying up troop that could of been used else were . The program show it well how hard it was for them under German rule
