Hello,
I thought some of you might find the origin of the Engineer Basevich's Cuban Revolution box art interesting. I had some friends travel to Cuba recently and they brought me back a Cuban revolution comic book. I have scanned the cover and a few of the the inside pages here. From what I understand, the comic came with blank spaces and you would collect the different pictures and glue them in to the comic like a photo album. This one came with all of the pictures already glued. I could not find a copyright date on it. There is a short article about it in the book, "Comic Art Propaganda: A Graphic History" by Fredrik Stromberg and Peter Kuper. I just like that the box art came from an entirely different product. Oh, and the back of the comic featerd a Cuban canned grapefruit advertisement.
Cheers - James
