Hello all, been lurking and admiring for a while and thought it about time I joined in.Hope this is the correct section in which to post figure conversions, please let me know if not.
Also my first attempt at posting a pic, hope it works out.
These English Civil War figures are some of my many works in progress I have going on at the moment. These are the first of a series of ECW camp figures I have planned and are made from Replicants ACTA and Airfix parts.

Well, that seemed to work ok,so I'll try a few more this time.
More English Civil War,dismounted cavalrymen/forlorn hope,a couple of the Replicants Guy Fawkes figures made to look a bit more ECW and a dismounted Dragoon Officer.
The plan is to make enough figures for a skirmish wargame in the style of the 3 Musketeers or the Flashing Blade and to make them in sets,in much the same way K&C do it,marching, fighting, shooting,at rest etc. so they will display nicely.
I'm hoping posting on here may actually spur me on to actually finishing something, along with WW1,WW2,pirates and Pulp (1920s cultists/zombies etc.) on the go at the moment I need all the help I can get !!

Those look cool! Welcome to the forum, its great to see another converter here on the forum. Do you plan on painting these up? If so please post some more photos when you,ve got them done.
There are a few more of us converters here on this forum, you might want to try and do a search on conversions to bring up the threads most of which I believe are under the plastics how to section but there are others also including metal conversions also.
I,d like to some day see a conversion section here on the forum and try and get more guys on here showing there work and sharing there conversion ideas and have tried a couple of times but they started strong and ran outta gas.:(

But theres still plenty of good conversion threads here to skip through, Maybe you could dig through them and add some thoughts on the threads and show how you go about converting and try and breath some new life into them???

Again welcome to the forum!

Very nice work Rob. Great to see a subject that we almost never see here on the forum. You are a most welcome addition to the crew:)

Great work. You're pretty brave as I know how much Replicants cost. I still have a few Airfix kits and parts. The ECW Call To Arms figures are the best era they put out and are cheap enough to cut up for conversion, or build mass armies.

Blimey Scott,by my reckoning you must have bought 10 boxes of Pikemen to amass that lot !! I agree the ECW are far and away the best ACTA have done, just a pity the cavalry and artillerymen are rather weedy looking, muskets are very thin too,I'm considering replacing them, though its a pricey option.

Welcome to the forum, Rob, and nicely done on your conversions! They'd pass very well as Thirty Years War figures, too.

Prost!

The horses for the two cavalry sets are G'd Awful. I replaced them with IMEX spares. I changed the heads and some of the arms around.

I was able to pick up some loose figures from the artillery set but I wasn't going to pay 10 dollars US for the guns that are sold separately so I used some Reamsa Spanish guns I found.

I'm looking forward to seeing the painted conversions you're working on.

Thanks for the encouragement guys,I will post pics when they are painted, gotta finish them first of course.
Painting is not my favourite chore,I find 54mm more difficult than the wargames figures I have painted hundreds of in the past.
They could well pass for 30 years war, thats kind of deliberate, wanted to stick to first civil war rag tag look, the New Model Army is fascinating but I am more interested the earlier stages of the conflict.
Heres another pic to illustrate the weedy musket thing I was talking about, the guy on the right has a correctly scaled Airfix musket, the guy on the left is ACTA straight out of the box.
Great pics by the way Scott, larger horses really improve the look of those Ironsides, also love the artillery pic, some nice conversions there .
Siege positions for guns are on my wish list also. Not to mention armoured Siege Engineers and Gamekeeper sharpshooters !!

The matchlock size on the advancing figure seems small with no matchlock stand either. Funny the marching figure in the set does have the stand.

I mixed in some Replicant musketeers with the Call To Arms musketeers who are not equipped with the stands either.

Muskets, Pikes, cannon and armored cavalry.Oh my?
Neat stuf!
