Errol Flynn on TMC (1 Viewer)

How odd. Just chatting about Errol and bingo, I turn on the TV and there he is in The Sea Hawk on TCM. Is there a better channel than TCM? I don't think so. The Sea Hawk is one of his best. ^&grin -- Al

SEA HAWK....the best Errol Flynn movie ever.....Burma was'nt bad either...upset a few pommies according to this site.... hell that is Hollywood.....Errol made good movies and it is great to find he is still known by a lot of people outside of Aust ( TCM ?)....I did'nt hear the pommie's whinging about "TO Hell and Back" starring a real hero...the Brits fought around about the same area as Audi....in the same war even.....Neville Brand or Brant....I think that is the actor....real rough looking...ideal to cast as a Marine !st Sgt....anyone remember him ?...played a crook in quiet a few TV shows....He was the second most decorated US solider in WW2....according to an article I read years ago....there were some real hero's who acted in movies.....dispite Hollywood...TomB

Hi Tom. Very well remember Neville Brand. Made his TV name over here playing Al Capone and as a Texas Ranger named Reese in the series "Laredo", back in the 60's. He was in any number of TV shows and movies. The story about him being the second most decorated US soldier of WW2 is a myth, but his decorations did include the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman Badge. -- Al

Thanks Al.......After I posted I thought I should check on the internet to see if I could find if I had his name correct.....I had.... he was misreported ( Hollywood aint the only one you can mistrust ) as being the 4th most highly decorated US soldier....Hell..you dont sneeze at a Silver Star... CIB and a Purple heart and the rest of his service medals....how the hell did I forget to mention Jimmy Steward....****ed if I know.....not sure how a Silver Starr rates in the US military....but as a guess it rates as a DCM in Brit awards ( Other Ranks) ...... second only to the VC......your Medal Of Honor........so I reckon he can stand next to Audi...but maybe not as tall....in medals I mean....cheers Tom PS...I am not a pom I am a Aussie, but untill about 1975 Aust came under Brit awards until the Aust Govt insurated our own awards,,,Cannada would have been the same.
