This thread can be better understood if you know that Randy is a Marine. Marines who have been on this Forum believe that the Pacific theatre receives short shrift. I have no doubt that the "humanely" comment was made to show that the Japanese were worse than the Germans. Thus, I believe he was sincere when he made the comment.

By the way, as a friend who was married to a Marine once told me there is no such thing as a former or ex-Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

I was under that impression and believed he was just being sarcastic, as I said in post#6, but sometimes the written word does not convey the inflection that is meant. It can lead to misunderstanding. -- Al

jazzeum,indeed,sir,being a tad facetious adds spontaneity to a sometimes mundane posting.A good pot stirring
brings out the zest from our panelists.And indeed ,jazzeum,this was intended as a jab at the N.E.N.(never enough Nazis)
crowd which dominates all forums.My intent was never to denigrate that theater,goodness knows the incredible price
paid to bring both campaigns to fruition.Here's in high hopes that a ripping time was had by all and to all a good night.
