Hi Louis,

generous as always with your kind words.

I’ll be adding putty to fill in the space between the shabraque and the figure. You’ll hv realised that this is a half figure meant to go into a shadowbox. Looks very familiar?

I love your talented work, Victor and enjoy the progress photos. Nicely done!

Hi Mark,

thx for yr very nice comment. This piece has been bugging me for the past two decades. I'm glad that I have managed to reach this stage with Eug mounted on his horse.

Still more painting, tightening up the lacing details. I also burred out the scalloping on the red fringe and added a horse ear as well.

Finished rigging the horse reins. Also added a cummerband toggle from Historex.

Finally, I’ve started on the bkgd for this piece. A curved cardboard and the gaps filled with putty.

Finally painted the background. I placed the figure drilled into position and did a test fitting.
then added a few rocks into the foreground, painted and added some dust clouds around the hooves.
Added magnetic latches and it is FINISHED!!!!

Hi Louis,

thank you for yr generous remark. This was a far simpler piece than the similar Gericault Chasseur in terms of sculpting and painting. I also can work much faster now. The delays are just bouts complacency and procrastination now and then. 😀
