Not too long ago one of our friends let us photograph and measure a late 19th century market cart they had acquired. We made a pattern from it in every detail, including the bottom and modeled an assortment of items that you might find carried in one. This is a good detail to add for any scene from the 1870s to post World War II, and if you don’t use the milk and cream cans it can even be used for earlier periods. I added our German tanker carrying an insulated food can to create a small story of rations on the way to the field kitchen.
