Peter has it on the Treefrog site, it's under the recently added "K&C diorama" area.

Thanks Binder001.....I don't think the wall will fit in with the Napoleonics series too well considering they didn't have electricity then...doesn't look like the lights on the gate are run by candle power......

MUST SAY THOUGH I'M GLAD TO SEE K&C ARE DOING MORE ACCESSORIES FOR THEIR FIGURES....

I'm no expert, but wouldn't gas lamps have looked much the same as electric ones? I suspect they would have had gas lamps on their walls.

Just a thought.

Peter I'm no expert either...I haven't even heard of gas lamps...maybe oil for that period...wouldn't they have just had candle power.....Is someone knowledgible that can help us out with this?......:) The time period we are talking about is 1790-1816...

Gas was used in the late 1880's to the early 1910's, depending on the country and the level of electrification. Whale oil was a common fuel during the 1750's to the 1840's. Oil from petroluem began to be used extensively during the 1830's until electricity. There was a lot of overlap and a lot of dark streets. Cities did not really have many lights until after WWII when Europe was rebuilt and the 1930's in the US during the TVA days.

They did have gas lights at that time already. London had gas street lights as early as 1807. I believe it was coal gas and there was also oil lamps. I once read somewhere that even well before the napoleonic wars that in some cities there was a fine if you did not provide some kind of light at night if you lived on the main streets facing the street. It would help to keep crime down.

THANKS GUYS FOR THE INSIGHT...NOT SURE IF i WILL GET THE WALL....WHAT ABOUT OTHER NAPOLEONIC COLLECTORS???

I am planning on getting it. One insight I have on the lamp issue is that my family lived in Northern England for a time. We saw these sort of lights on both the entrances to both country and city estates. Many of these lights were over 200 years old and had been converted to electric. My mom liked them so much she bought a couple at estate sales and took them back to America were they were used as are outside lights for our home, which was not an estate. When she sold our home 20 years later the buyer insisted that the lights stay and so they did.

You can also saw them off and add a little bit of touch up paint.

Thanks guys... I may get the piece, based on the information provided...if I do... I do not dare to change them in anyway but thanks for the suggestion.....:)

Saw the gate today. It looks great and should work well with the Napoleonic figures.

The colors are different than the farm house. You guys ever heard of candles? They are very nice as a stand alone.
