The vehicle started out the size of the vehicle on the right under the Treaty of Versailles, but by the end of the war at Hitlers urging, it had grown to the size of the vehicle on the left. It's no coincidence that the size ratio of those 2 vehicles is exactly the size ratio between a Panzer I, Ausf A and a Tiger II.
