Before we get submerged in the monthly frenzy on “another section” of our fine forum;

Yes folks, roll up, roll up.
Here's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win a (ummm) yet-to-be-decided but assuredly sooper-dooper prize....well....errrmm, probably.
All you havetaa do is pick out ALL the historical inaccuracies in the following series of snaps.
Unkind remarks concerning the, admittedly rather odd, choice of backdrop material, (e.g. Robert, William, Simon, et al), shall not be excused and will definitely be frowned upon by the adjudicator, (i.e. me). Such perpetrators shall automatically be debarred from further entries in this exciting competition. Kind remarks on the other hand, may lead to an overlook of any omissions from the presumably eagle-eyed entrants.

Photo's of the winner(s) shall be published when they turn up at Heid Mansion to, (ha-ha), try and collect their prize(s).

Regards
H

Well, obviously, the Charge didn't take place against the backdrop of Scottish Landscapes. We all know it occurred in Essex.

Then there's the pistol being used by the SS officer. He is using a Walther P38, which is totally wrong for Crimea. He should be using a Luger. And his leather coat is more 1840's than 1850's. Most unfashionable.

The Lancers should be formed up in a Phalanx, rather than the untidy charge they are depicted in here.

I'll come back for more. :)

Oh, and Sgt Ewart is improperly dressed for an Essex campaign.

Just a stab in the dark.........is it anything to do with the rear ends of horses?

Reb

Can book a flight to China if the answer is correct.;)

Reb,

You've got some odd areas of interest. ;)

Well, we've a clear leader in the Heid Prize Stakes already. It's Wraith leading by a moist nose.
Thank you very much for your very kind observation UKReb, but please be advised of the disqualification regulations.

Oh, by the way, perhaps I omitted to mention - there's an entry fee of US$100/post..??
:D:D

Cheers
H

.....
Hold on, I think Reb is on to something; afterall, how many of those "rear ends" are prominently featured in your photos? Does it instead have to do with what comes for those rear ends? If not, maybe it is all those grey horses; they should be bay.

Well, I thought of responding that I couldn't very well take some photos from the wall side - but then again, I could've turned the base through 180 degrees horizontally. And then again, knowing me, I'd have let the thing slip (fair old weight of scrap metal there BTW) and all those miss-coloured nags could well have ended up as real scrap metal.
It's an idea though - aye, turning the base I mean.

Having seen these earlier Harry I'm still holding my overall comments until the last of the comments and aswers but will say you seemed to really enjoy setting it all up and the time spent taking the photos.......The Lt.

I did give a clue way back at the beginning, but it was obviously speed-read and missed. I can always S-P-E-L-L it out as, given certain sour and humourless responses, seems to be increasingly necessary.

Thanks Lt.
But if truth be told, Mrs H was on one of her dusting missions - and that was the only space available for me to temporarily put some predominantly equine-mounted figurines and given today's date I, (silly me), thought I could share some fun and have a joke with forum colleagues. Evidently (?), I was taken seriously in some grim rear quarters.
Looking forward to your overall comments.

Regards
Harry
