Its something which dismays me also. You see on the news all the usual dross for the criminally insane including x factor or stupid dance programme winners and three or four stories down like a by the way a soldier died today.

Good on you for mentioning it and shame on the nutters who think dross news and crappy little so called stars deserve more air coverage than heroes

News is all entertainment. I do like John Stewart but that's it. I don't watch anything anymore. I'll read some sources I sort of trust to get information when I want it but I really can't say I fully trust anything. No integrity anywhere.

I posted that Lindsay Lohan remark on my facebook page and not a single person I know disagrees with the statement it makes. But, such things are out of our control and are working for various interests.

I have a cousin who's being deployed soon. He's pretty fresh out of training and has been assigned to the 101st Airborne. I think about those names and hope he isn't added to the list.

Not sure I get the facebook reference but can certainly agree with your post- a brave Marylander (Maryland is a State here in the US)- was KIA in Afghanistan last week. He was an Army Ranger- served 11 COMBAT TOURS- 7 in Afghanistan (OEF) and 4 in Iraq (OIF). This high speed hero was in for nine years.

The difference between real heroes and posers is that the real ones let their actions speak for themselves and never run their mouths about it. Posers do whatever they can to get themselves famous. This country should have a national moment of silence for this type of sacrifice.
