This may sound a little odd guys but I just do not like the cartoonish facial expressions on my Frontline ACW figures.
I recently bought a whole batch of mounted standard bearers for my Gettysburg dio primarily because no other metal manufacturer produces them in 54mm. But they look real weird when comparing them to Osen's/Conte or even the old Imrie Risley detailed faces which are prolific on my battlefield.
They remind me of the comic characters in the "Bash Street Kids" (UK Froggers will be familiar with them- the nearest I can come up with for US Froggers is the old "Katzenjammer Kids") and more annoying apart from some of them sporting different facial hair they all look identical by wearing that same squat comic face, next time I shoot the dio I'll post some pics to support my gripe.
However, I did notice the Frontline First World War German mounted troops wearing gas-masks (not sure how their horses would have survived a gas attack as they were not wearing the equine type) and thought well that's a step in the right direction but unfortunately wouldn't be historically correct to put gas-masks on my ACW figures.
Hell! maybe it's just me!
