Thirty years ago British Paras and Royal Marines were landing in the Falklands, an event that seems to have passed the model soldier community by. I realise a Falklands "range" is a "no-no", but perhaps Andy (as an ex Royal Marine) might think about adding a Falklands figure to the collectors club range at some stage.

This would be a great range to do, why is it a no no? Not sure if andy could make all those surrendering argies, prob run out of paint.

Here's to the Royal Marines and all servicemen and women who liberated the Falkland Islands thirty years ago.

I think a Falklands War range would be great!

I echo what rob said about our servicemen who fought and died in crappy conditions. not a big fan of modern stuff but, a falklands range of brits para's and commando's would get my vote. Agree about some being done as a CC figure it would also test the popularity of the range

No doubt would I dive in a Falklands series. I don't see why should it be a "no-no", it was a conflict that occured 30 years ago, and regardless to the ongoing politics that surround it, it would be a fair and honest tribute to all those who fought there on both sides! If K&C wants a low-risk approch, I would suggest like others already did bellow a CC figure to start (it will be a hit IMHO), pointing clearly towards the possibility of producing a small, limited time new range.

Has any company ever done a provisional 'pre-order' on a range to test interest? I suppose it would show a certain lack of confidence in your own product and it would have the added difficulty of compelling a company to accept money for a product which may or may not go ahead. I find a related problem with surveys - I would probably tick yes to a Falklands War range in a Forum survey, but when it came to buying it, there may well be ten things in front of it. Even if I bought it, it might be a purchase made eighteen months after release.

Glad that there are others on the forum who are supportive of either Collector Club Falkland figures or even a range of figures covering the conflict.

The reason why I originally regarded such a series as a "no-no" was its probable lack of interest in the key US market.

Although its perhaps not a fair comparioson but a friend of mine who collects 1/6 figures recently drew my attention to the fact that Dragon are producing a 30th Anniversary 1/6 commemorative range. Their announced figures so far are;
1. Col "H" Jones
2. SAS operator
3. Royal Marines GPMG gunner
4. Para Sniper

So perhaps out there, there IS a market for Falklands figures.
