Hi Guys,
We just received a batch of superb looking Royal Navy Westland Wessex HU5 Helicopters that saw plenty of action during the Falklands Conflict.
Among the most famous was this one… “XRAY QUEBEC” of No. 847 Naval Air Squadron which took part in vital rescue operations on June 8, 1982 when Argentinian jets bombed two Royal Fleet Auxiliaries, ‘Sir Galahad’ and ‘Sir Tristram’ which were at anchor in Bluff Cove.
Both ships were in the process of unloading supplies and units from the Welsh Guards when they were attacked.
Although three of the attackers were shot down the enemy attack was very successful and there were many killed and wounded casualties on the stricken ships.
Two Royal Navy helicopters were almost immediately on site… a Sea King and Westland Wessex ‘XQ’ or ‘XRAY QUEBEC’.
Despite the Wessex being ‘low’ on fuel rather than leave the rescue operation it managed to land on the burning Sir Tristram and refueled there and then!
It then immediately returned to assist the rescue operations. A brave pilot with a brave crew.
Here is our version… loading some enemy prisoners and later supporting some Marines.
All the best and… Enjoy!
Andy
P.S. Although most of the batch are already sold we have a few that are still available.
