What diorama of normandy 1944 would be complete without german paras. Not ones in tan pants but one with the authentic color uniforms used in normandy. Just look at some of those old newsreels from german weekly show. They have some great shots of fj's in smocks or camo. I think fjs with british tommies should be the number one focus for kc. [ a jadgtiger or su 152 would be nice too] does anybody agree ?

Yes we defiantly need those, are you listening Andy? :D

Yes, yes, YES I say.

Normandy FJ's with dark blue pants, hemlet covers with foliage band and netting, splinter pattern camo smocks, etc, etc.

AND, Tommies for Normandy as well.

The only problem with your idea is if I am not mistaken, the majority of the FJ units were in the American sectors, not the British, but I could be wrong, so there you go.

You're correct. The Fallschirmjaeger were up against US troops. That said, we need a bunch of Tommies regardless. Right now we've got 12th SS, LAH and Lehr troops without many Tommies.

Course the ones still available (like the patrol) are lovely.

unless i am remembering incorrectly, weren't there FJ's with the German spearheads in the Ardennes? that would make for some interesting dio's with the new KingTiger.-- lancer

The 82nd was up against the Fallschirmjager as well. Paratrooper vs. Paratrooper.

You are correct, there are many famous newsreel shots and photos of Tiger II's rumbling through the Ardennes loaded with FJ passengers...........

When i suggested tommies i did not mean against fjs, i was thinking cotentin when i was thinking fjs, the tommies were a last minute thought that seems to pop up in my head often as the tommy patrol is one of my favorite sets

yup.. would love FJ tank riders...:D

Hey Nasir, I like this last photo, it shows how big is the TIGER

Totally agree.

That's good art by Ron Volstad from Dragon Model's plastic 1/35 kits. Note the captured sten gun in the guy's hand (also seen in the photo above posted by Nasir on which the art was based). Here's the companion set - g43s a plenty (perhaps too many) along with an MP-44 and splinter and marsh smocks:

Cool pictures. I hope the new FJ's will be either AK or Normandy.

"AK would be okay, but there are too many things focusing on Normandy, how about FJ in the Ardennes."

You mean like these?

certainly does show the tiger scale

A good rule of thumb for Tiger I scale is top of the hull (engine deck). This is 180cm above the ground which works out to the height of an average sized man (without bases, hats, helmets etc.)
