The farm is new from Hovels, it's modeled after Papelotte from the Battle of Waterloo, a beautiful model for sure...................

Brilliant George. Huge effort in every way. Just setting up a table like that requires hours of work, imagination and a strong back .Great as usual. Pity we are 3,000 miles away on different coasts. I have all the troops I need to represent Waterloo. Need more Buildings and a BIGGER table! 16' seems long enough. It ain't!
Love seeing your troops cavorting across that beautiful landscape.:salute::

Thanks Scott, I appreciate the feedback. Yes, this one took awhile to plan and set up, Napoleonics are a bit taxing, but the end result is worth it, so colorful, my favorite period, ACW is a close second, WWII is third. Sixteen feet; wow, I'd kill for that much space............

A great result from a lot of work...really like the farm house or was it a fort ?...looking at your Dio I can understand why the French had such a hard time trying to take the farmhouse, I had do idea it was such a formidable building protected by walls......wonderfull dio...thanks for posting...cheers TomB

Those Hovel's buildings are great sets. I'll have to break the piggy bank.

Agreed, I've been waiting for this one since they announced it in January. Am tempted to pick up the La Haye Sainte as well, Hougomont is too massive, plus you can only use it for one battle.

I planned on having David from TM Terrain paint this one for me, but my girlfriend bought it for me (long story, pretty comical one too actually), sorry about that David............

Don't know about taxing! :wink2: but another fab layout from you George! {bravo}}

It's nice to see the Allied troops getting an airing for a change - you have some nice figures in your collection I must say. ^&cool

As for the farmhouse - superb addition and makes all the difference to a Napoleonic battle. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Jeff, glad you like it, I'm happy with the way it came out. I've got quite a few allied troops in my collection, can't do Waterloo or Quatre Bras without them..............:wink2:

Another nice display there George,.......New buildings look great Hovels have some nice stuff don't they.
The Hougoumont is sold in pieces so even just the farmers building and a few walls placed at the edge of your table would still look the part..and you could re-use them for WW2 diplays.
The complete La Haye Sainte however would be the way to go would look great placed in the middle there.
Rob,

Thanks for the feedback and yes, Hovels makes some great pieces. I'm thinking about what you said and getting some of the Hougomont buildings along with some of the walls, have also kicked around the idea of getting La Haye Sainte as well, such an iconic farmhouse, could do the garden and orchard as well and do a very nice display..........

Just came across this post George. Wonderful detail with the buildings and terrain. Quite a show and great to view. Thanks for sharing. Chris

Wow, just noticed this thread. Really nice display and an impressive set of figures. I love displays for this period and I always enjoy the scenes you post. I hope you have time to post other scenes from this battle as it unfolds.
