Hey, I can skin a buck, run a trout line Country boys WILL survive! Nothing wrong with country.Matter of fact, nothing wrong with music of any type except rapcrap. Mike

Would have to include most CDs by the following:
Led Zeppelin
The Doors
The Who
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
U2

I have to agree with 1879 for the most part, most rap is pretty awful. I think there is some talent out there but mostly it will be some guy stealing an old beat and rapping over it about how he is bad, drinks Don and owns a Rolex.

I feel so old.
Al Stewart Past Present and future
Jethro Tull just about anything
Thin Lizzy Jailbreak { warrior, the emerald, cowboy song}
Styx Equinox
Lynard Skynard second helping
RUSH 2112
Like Toby Kieth Unleashed, Charlie Daniels fire on the Mountain.

Anyone ever heard this one
Jeff Waynes musical version of the war of the worlds???
Narrated by Richard Burton. Blast from the past . Staring up at the Summer nites sky in a 100 acre field of clover with the super tuner blasting that out . Loaded on gawd knows what, whatever was handy. Oh my squandered youth!
Fub:confused:

Just about anything by the Beach Boys!

Dang, Harry! The question was your favorite album, not your favorite music store!!:D:D:D

Well Harry, you sure have one heck of a list there and most of them are good albums. I like a wide variety of music so it's hard to pick a favorite. We have such a wide assortment of music in our collection of about 350 cd's, anything from country to rock 'n' roll to jazz and some classical. I also really like that CD by Toby Keith as someone mentioned before (Unleashed), great album! I love the old Bob Segar album, Night Moves and add a little Fleetwood Mac in the mix too! Don't want to upset anyone here, sorry but you can keep the Beatles, The Who & The Rolling Stones, only a handful of songs from all of them together that I like, the rest I can do with out.

Beth

Beth,
Im with you on the Beatles, Stones....etc "classic crap". Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, I have Christy McVie's solo that I still listen to all the time. The big new thing is the internet radio (yahoo, pandora, xm) that keeps me jousting with my employees all day long for the right station. I put on 80s alternative, go to the restroom, one of the guys has already put on current rock, until I turn it back. I rule the radio. Mike

Some of the Stones stuff i really like 'Brown Sugar' 'Start me up' etc,but not the Beatles.Sorry but its way too poppy for me,all that 'Love me do' type stuff,no offence to any fans but i can't see what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, that list was just a sample of the stuff I was listening to during my recent company-sponsored holiday in Nigeria.
A generalization I guess - and no offence, but I reckon you need to be a certain age to appreciate the likes of the Stones, Beatles, Who, Kinks, and so on. In the Fab Four's defence, I still think Abbey Road is one of the best albums in my collection.
It's like TS collecting innit - not everyone likes the same stuff - and rightly so, thank god.
Have recently discovered Katherine Jenkins and am presently updating my iTunes library. Just about out of memory on this laptop :eek::eek:. All is not lost though as it's getting replaced pretty soon with what my gaffer describes as a state-of-the-art, touch-screen, tablet, Panasonic toughbook, which (of course) will be out of date the minute I get my sticky paws on it.

Cheers :cool::)

Yo Trooper Sammy, you might be able to help here or any of you Good Old Boys from the south. When I was in Germany, we all used to tune in to the American forces network, most of it was country think it was called "Red Rock Round Up" Anyway soon became a big country fan Don Gibson, Hank etc. But Back in the UK 1970 bought three albums called " Tribute to Johnny Cash By Johnny Doe" man they were something else, he has a better voice than Cash, my kids loved him but they ruined the albums DOH, but still have volume two. Question did any of you guys ever hear him or know of him, I would give anything to get the albums again. The record label was English "Marble Arch" produced by Jack Dorsey. Any info on this guy Johnny Doe would be great guys he was something special (Like Elvis).
Bernard.

Then it must be bizzarre that my favorite album at the moment is Mary Hopkin's debut on Paul (A*#@%^%) McCartney's post-Cambrian label. She has a voice to die/kill for. Mike

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that feels this way about the Beatles & Stones...etc. I'm with you on the 80's alternative, good stuff there.

Now don't get me wrong they each have a couple of good songs, but other than that, they are in my opinion just plain annoying. Like you said "too poppy" and I too can't see what all the fuss is about. I know that I may not be old enough to really appreciate their music, but I do enjoy listening to the "oldies" from the 60's etc...I just can't seem listen to the Beatles or the Stones or the Who for very long.

Beth

Had a hunt for it today on the strength of your recomendation. No luck - it's been deleted. Couldn't even get my hands on his greatest hits CD.
I did get however;

Patti Scialfa - Play It As It Lays
Pink Floyd - Echoes
The Pretenders - Greatest Hits
Texas - The BBC Sessions
Duffy - Rockferry
Madonna - Ray of Light
Diana Ross & The Supremes - Ultimate Collection
Motorhead - Ace of Spades
E;lectric Light Orchestra - All Over The World

Bit of a mixture there.

Been trying to find replacements for Pretenders GH, and Madonna RoL CD's since oldest daughter decided she had more right to them than I do....:eek::eek:....Success at last.

Cheers :)
