Does anyone have a Favorite line by Del Prado? I have been looking at the pictures and am trying to decide.

I rather like Del Prado's Men at War in the 20th Century. This range offers a good variety of 1/30 scale matte figures at reasonable prices.

This is ideal to attract young newcomers to the hobby. At the beginning, they may find the prices of other manufacturers' sets beyond their means until they get started with jobs.

NAPOLEONICS

Both the foot figures and the cavalry series.

I have the complete set of Foot Figures now, and working on the Cavalry then maybe get hold of some of the Cavalry Through the Ages, but only the period 1700 - 1815.

Thanks for the input so far! I like the looks of the Knights/Medievil but just couldn't tell the quality from the photos.

Hi,
I have to say the Men at War series is great. Lots of figures that are not produced by the large TS manufacturers, such as Egyptian/Allied (WWI) camel corps, Arab Legion, and lots for French foreign legionaires! And you cannot beat the price, the early figures are great, the more recent ones are ok.

Julie, do you anything about a new line devoted to the First World War?

Thanks
Benjamin

Del Prado is a steal in this hobby, they make great figures, I display many untouched in my displays and they make excellent sources for conversion and repaints.

Benjamin,

I am not privy to any new lines but you never know!

Hi:
My favorite series from Del Prado are the Medieval cavalry warriors and the Napoleonic cavalry;I love horses and these figures combine both sculptures.

I collect the Knights...Crusaders and Saracens...they match up very nicely with my K&C Medieval line...for 1/4th the price...

My favourite is the miniature Napoleonic headdress range. Trooper

I've been flirting with the idea of getting their Ancient Egyptian market scene. Has anyone else gotten a set? If so, how does it compare with the K & C Ancient Egyptians?

Has anyone purchases or seen the new I believe 90mm line? From the pictures they look spectacular. Regards, Larry.

I have been looking at those sets too...they should match in scale pretty well...the painting may be a tad less than the K&C...but they are certainly affordable...

As 90mm figures go they are affordable. Detail is not too bad and you can always repaint them. Though the packaging is horrible and there seems to be a lot of damaged figures. Most are simple regluing and touch-ups. I would not let that stop me as the Murat figure really is nice once repainted to a higher level.

Thanks Grant. This series could easily be my favorite, however, the packaging comment really concerns me. Also, I am not big on repainting (everything I touch gets ruined) so that is also troubling. Larry.

if you want i will closely inspect and repackage before shipping- their is almost always going to be an epic struggle between packaging and price point for this brand.

This is a problem with many Del Prado figures that I get, as they have been rubbed in the packages on the journey to 'the Great South Land'.

I am fortunate that I can do all my own repairs and paint matching, so its not a problem, but I would be very dissapointed if I couldn't do that.

I have seen some of the 'Cavalry through Time' series, but that painting isn't up to much, and I'd only use them as castings and repaint.

My favourite del prado are: " napoleonics" which I mix with KC for small dioramas; and "saracens- crusaders" ( i also mix them with KC for crusade dio). Del prado are really perfect with KC and much , much cheaper!!!!!!!!!{sm4}

Do any of you have Del Prado's Ancient Egyptian line? I'm especially interested in their Market Place set (if it's still in existence) as I'd like to blend it with K & C's AE market figures.
