2) Drummer Boy
3)Officer with Regimental Colors
4)Officer with Kings Colors

WELLINGTON

Sorry had to pick four...couldn't make my mind up

For me its;
Standing Firing and chap with Kings colours.I suspect Ron will like the wounded chappie and the dead bloke!;) :D

Rob

My first buys will be the Dead and Wounded - My French Calvary must have some measure of success. :D

What i really like about these new guards is this. Not only will they look stunning in a square(when i've got enough of them)but until then they will look great in a group engaging French inf/cavalry.:)

Rob

Has anyone noticed and / or compared these New Guards with the old British Napoleonics that just got retired? It seems to me that old Napoleonics look smaller - I guess its too early to tell - due the New Guards not being out yet - but, thats what it looks like in the photos.

I thought the same thing.....nice none the less though......The only complaint I have is I wish they didn't have their Shako covers on...also some have them on and some don't. I still love them though.....:D

Cheers
WELLINGTON

Hey wellington where have you been hiding??? The guards look good other then the fact that I,m not crazy about the shako cover look either and the fact that I,m getting sick of so many british figures. I think its time to venture out into other nations already. Enough with the british already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do like british figures but I think were ready for a new nations figures. How about some austrains???

As far as which guards I like, I think the Sgt. with the pike is cool and I always like the repel poses and the figure with the kings colors. I noticed that the colors are mis-labeled on the treefrog site, the kings colors are labled as reg. colors and the reg. colors are labled kings colors???
Is this a treefrog mistake or a K&C mistake?

I am ready for a new nation as well...now that I got my British troops I wanted...I'd love to see a wagen scene or more artillery...rocket unit etc.....:) Even if Andy used the American Revolution Wagon it would be cool. Did I mention ARTILLERY!!!!!

WELLINGTON

Oh Yes...Hello Fishead good to talk to you again...

We used the images and descriptions provided by K&C. We'll shoot them an e-mail and see what the deal is.

I received an answer back regarding the flag question:

We've checked our references and everything is correct. Please let me know if there's still any question.

I am no flag expert so if any of you feel the flags should be reversed contact K&C by email.
I poked around on the internet a bit to see if I could come up with a definitive answer and found that although there is an amazing amount of material out there, none of the places I looked gave me the answer I was looking for. I did find out there are a myriad of versions of these flags.
If someone finds a good reference source please share the link by posting it here.
Thanks!

Tim is right on this one, the King's Colour should be the Union Jack.

I think the Flagmen will be some of the first i buy of these, something for the others to rally to!

I thought this might help.

British Infantry Regiments of the Waterloo Campaign 1815.
British Infantry battalions each carried two colours, the Kings colour and the Regimental colour. These standards measured 6ft 6in by 6ft 0 in or approx 198 x 183 cm.

This is the Regimental Colour Bearer 3rd Batt. 14th Foot Regt 1815

This has proved a brain teaser for me  and I have found the following:

In regiments of infantry of the British Army each battalion carries two colours, which collectively are called a stand. The King's/Queen's Colourflag, often trimmed with gold fabric, and with the regiment's insignia placed in the centre. The Regimental Colour is a flag of a single colour, usually the colour of the uniform facings (collar/lapels and cuffs) of the regiment, again often trimmed and with the insignia in the centre. All regiments that are designated as 'Royal' regiments (that is either have the word 'Royal' or the sponsorship of a royal personage in their name) have a navy blue Regimental Colour. The colours of the five regiments of Foot Guards have the pattern of the line infantry reversed, with the Queen's Colour being crimson and the Regimental Colour a variation of the Union Flag.
Queen's Colours (top) and Regimental Colours (bottom) of the Irish Guards (left) and the Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons) (right).

It would appear that the above is correct and K&C have got it right and so my apologies.

I,m confused now also.
I just checked nap flags site http://www.warflag.com/napflags/html/flags.htm and the guards flags are listed as the red being the kings color and the union jack being the regimental color, but with all the other regiments on the site the union jack is listed as the kings colors and the regimental color is a flag with the facing color of that regiment and is listed as the regiment color???

Was this a mistake on the site??? because for all the other regiments the flag with the regimental color is the regimental flag.

I cheched the frontline coldstream gaurd set and they have there sets listed as the red flag being the regimental colors and the union jack as the kings colors the way that I believed to be the correct way.

Maybe some one like Ken Olsen would know wich is correct.
