Just got my Desert Tiger today ! This is the first Figarti Tiger that I have ever owned. First Impression of this Tank is very nicely detailed and well made.
Once the Turret is removed the inside detail is impressive. The paint is exceptional and has the worn / weathered look. Top surface tow cables are extra
add on pieces (not part of the mold) and the rear air cleaners have rubber hoses attached to each canister ! Both turret hatches open and appear to be
metal. The figure included is improved as far as detail, sculpt, and painting ! Overall I would give this Desert Beast high marks all around .
Included are 2 series of photos.

there seems to be quite a bit of paint work not completed on the pics you have supplied around the rear wheels all along the road wheels. That would be annoying to me for the money. I like the added detail that the turret has but, its really something I personally don't require on the models I buy. I am not keen on the shells on the interior base.

Did they retain the recoiling barrel on this Tiger or, was it removed after the Wittmann one as its hard to see as they have painted all the barrel this time?

Its obvious this will sell due to number etc but, as decent as it looks its not for me and, though I am sure many will disagree I, in terms of Tigers, prefer the King and country versions and, the old Tunisian DAK version.

Interesting pics though how do you see it compared to your other Tigers?

The next version comming.............

Although I do wonder why they chose this version. I believe there were only two of these made and one was captured. I think it was #801 or called elephant ears or some such name. Its been years since I saw this.

It was captured at Leningrad and was an early model. I don't know how many had side bins on the turret, but there couldn't have been more than a very few. The turret has the emergency escape hatches which were introduced on Tigers in December 1942.

Here is a photo of the same captured tank as in Thompyt photo.

I find the grey version with side mounted storage bins on the turret a strange choice for Figarti. For me it takes away from the classic look of the Tiger. The newly released Desert Tiger is a keeper. Strange how the digital camera flash
Gives a different impression as in the pics, but when viewed with the naked eye it is an appealing model.

I like the stowage bins on this version and, think its very interesting how developments to the tiger progressed in the factory and in the field.

Agree with you Mitch. I like the new Grey tiger with the side bins. Dont' think it was ever done. Unique. And surprised the some paint was missed on the road wheels on the Africa. Brad

I will have to take some additional pics of the desert tiger, as looking at it there is no missing paint. My camera flash
Is a pain at times.

Yes it does and both hatches open and close and IMO is AWSOME!!!!!!! {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Can't wait for the Grey one:salute:: Neil

I have some dinky and corgi from many years ago that have little recoiling barrels. not really something I wish to see on these sets as they are not toys but, each to their own.

Collectors like myself, Neil, and others own and appreciate the features and build of this Tiger.

Added detail and realism equates to a more realistic model. Definately a big PLUS. !

The recoiling barrel feature along with the added detail is clearly a plus for this Tiger. One of the best Tigers made to date.
