Figarti German 150mm Artillery Set-Winter Version (2 Viewers)

I can't wait to get me one of these guns. Has anyone ever produce one of these babies in 1/32 or 1/30 scale ever? If so, whom and when? I'm curious.

I'm not sure it's ever been produced before in 1/30 or 1/32 scale-but then, i've only been collecting this scale range a few years, so anything is possible.

No regrets at all-the gun is the centepiece and the figures are fine in a supporting role-and it all fits very well in a winter setting.

Mike,

Glad to hear that it worked out for you. I checked it out at Sierra this weekend and decided to hold off. I am still kind of torn, especially after reading your post.

I recvd my 150 artillery piece today. The figures were excellent. The artillery piece was very detailed and had an attractive winter camo that will fit in well with my other winter scene dios. There is one thing, though, that I was a little disappointed in and that was the weight. I dont know exactly what the composition of the material used in the manufacturing process, but, for the price (which is definitely on the higher side), I expected something much more heavier. I have many Figarti sets and vehicles and am very satisfied. I am satisfied with the overall quality and appearance of this set, as well. Again, I just expected some weight in the piece. Does anyone one else who has the set feel the same way...or am I being too picky?

The Figarti cannon (Red Bull, 88s) tend to be fairly light vs the K&C 88 which is much heavier. It's a function of the materials used - K&C polystone vs the material Figarti is using (only partly polystone?) There really is no correct answer as to what the "correct" weight of a model should be.

I agree, the detail is fantastic and I'm quite pleased with the piece. I agree, it is 'light weight', but I'm ok with that as the gun came out so well-and maybe it won't be so brittle in the event of a fall (God forbid).

I hope I didn't chase you off of the set-I'm quite pleased, especially with the arty piece. I do think I am gonna have to snag a Bergepanzer based on your comments.

Naw, I was torn on it before I read your posts. I do really value your opinion. The arty piece is superb, but too me the figures just are not up to par.

I hope you do get the Bergepanzer.

The weight of the 150mm Cannon, although a little light is not an issue for me since I do not handle my collection too much.....For me it is in the acceptable range for weight......The detail of the cannon is very well done.....I did find the figures to be a bit dissappointing....

I've not noticed much excitement (that I've seen) about Figarti's Winter German 150mm set. After 'missing the boat' on the winter '88 set, I just had to have this for my Bulge collection.
It'll be my first Figarti purchase.

I just picked one up & am quite pleased. The paint job works for the entire war, being base grey. Artillery wasn't high priority for Dunkelgelb & was often left in dark grey. The paint job is much more pleasing than the advertising photos, and I find the figures to be very well sculpted & painted. I see that some were critical of the figs, but artillery folk are never a very charismatic lot...think of their job! They are lugging & heaving heavy shells & listening to loud explosions all the time while the pilots & tankers & infantry get the glory! I remember being told years back that it was generally a good idea that if you were the forward observer, be sure to send back stories of how many bad guys they were blowing up to keep on their good side (if you wanted prompt service on your next fire mission:D)

The gun is well detailed, the tires do not rotate, but there are other moving parts. The limber legs open & close, & the gun carriage pivots about +/- 15 degrees or so. Supremely pleased. Oh yeah, it comes with 2 shells & 2 empty brass powder cartridges

Let's see if one comes out with summer camo for the eastern front. It's too difficult to collect both seasons - I had to choose one and there are a lot more summer camo pieces from K&C, HB, and Figarti that I already have i summer camo than in winter.
