Rick sent me a message that Figarti Miniatures repainted all of the two figures in the SAS jeep to the new higher standard shown on the West Coaster British paratrooper. They stopped the shipment of their SAS jeeps, unpacked all of them, and repainted the figures! Hopefully, Rick will post pictures of the improved SAS figures. Of course, the downside (just kidding Rick) is that it will take longer for dealers to get the shipment.;)

Thanks a lot man! LOL, now I have to get another one? Or is it that the SAS Jeep I got in Chicago an exclusive? Hmmm, maybe having this kind of an exclusive isn't that cool????

Dear Carlos,

Rick was talking about bringing their master painter and some sculptors to the Chicago Show. Maybe the master painter can add the new detail to your figures?;)

Can they give us a tip on how to un-glue the 2 figures without damaging the seats..or may be can we (us crazies who buy multiple sets)pre-order now and skip the gluing process during the production run? I hate to buy 5 all having the same pose..kinda odd isn't it?

Anybody in the forum with me on this?

Carlos,

Its Irvine, not Chicago. But if I were you, I would not have us re-paint it for you like Steven suggested because we only have 4 out there in that original paint style, and one is used as a sample for Hobby Bunker.

Rick,
I just have to tell you that you guys have really been turning my head lately,
your focus on quality of product as opposed to quantity is a winning strategy.
Combine that with unique subject matter and BINGO!!!! We have a Winner!!!!
Keep up the great work!

Carlos:
Can you take a picture of the SAS Jeep side by side with KC BoB Jeep (top, front & side views)?

Thanks

They have shipped via sea from Shanghai to the US, so it'll be a month or so before we see them here.

We still don't have the 'official' item number for this, but we'll be getting it on our web site as FSAS. Look for it shortly.

That is one seriously nice paint job on those figures. I think Figarti are well and truely stepping up to the challange.

I was told by Rick that these are actual photos of the production SAS jeep that has been shipped out. Besides re-painting the figures to the new higher standard shown on the West Coaster gift figure, Figarti Miniatures also added even more detail to the eyes and teeth. After seeing these repainted figures, Rick thinks Figarti is fast approaching the painting standards of the Russian figures, and it will be able to match the Russian quality with production painted figures within a year or two.

By the way, those who want SAS jeeps without seated figures just have to be a little patient.;)

Beautiful indeed but I cannot mix it with KC & HB collection I have because of scale issue. Can someone post a picture side by side with KC Jeep? The Figarti British light Honey is close enough with KC Stuart (I bought 3)...so I am hoping the the same is the case with the SAS Jeep.

Hopefully Carlos (desk11desk12) can do it ... he's the only one I know who got one of the four SAS jeeps (with the old paint standard) that Figarti brought to the West Coaster.;)

FWIW, I've mixed the Honey with K & C and don't have a problem. However, I do have the Honeys in the background, not in the foreground. However, as others have pointed out (maddadicus, for example), there is not really a size discrepancy between K & C Stuarts and Figarti Honeys.

I have one of these Jeeps on order, by the way.

I've pre-ordered the Figarti SAS jeep, which looks very good in the photos (and I actually held the prototype provided to Matt Murphy in my hand), and I own the K&C SAS jeeps. Once my SAS jeep arrives I will provide photos of both side by side for comparison.

By the way, I noticed Steven Chong's little comment about the possibility of an SAS jeep with a seated crew in the not to distant future. Steven clearly has the ear of Rick, so I imagine that by Chicago we will have a chance to see more SAS and LRDG. I am certainly very excited about the prospect of adding more SAS and LRDG to my collection at Chicago!

Does anyone know if the wheels roll? It would certainly enhance my play with it value...Michael

Dear Michael,
No, the wheels on the SAS jeep do not roll and the front wheels do not swivel like on the original Figarti Marine jeep. With all the complaints about breakage, Firgarti decided to make the wheels non-movable. At the West Coaster, Rick was dropping the jeep on its wheels from a one foot height to show the piece was much tougher than the previous jeep.:)

I noticed your post about Andy asking you to get the Tamiya LRDG Chevy for him, so I think there may be more than one source of SAS and LRDG vehicles in the future.;)

P.S. Tried to get the Tamiya kit for you but 69jbarrett is bidding very high on every set listed on eBay.
