Greetings!
After a 12 year hiatus from collecting, I have returned to collecting---what a joy it is. Many thanks to George (Warrior) for helping me liquidate the majority of my collection years ago, and now helping me find and collect figures once more.
I regular posted here years ago while I was in high school under the username, "Lewey Gun Vick." I have many fond memories of meeting many of you at the Chicago Toy Soldier Show decades ago, including: Louis, Mike Estell, Andy Neilson, and Howard Woods, to name a few. Following 12+ years of the army, college, and beginning my professional life, I'm happy to have found some time again for building dioramas.
I've long admired Ken Osen and the W. Britain's work especially their work depicting the 101st Airborne Division in the Battle of the Bugle. I thought I'd post a few shots of some dioramas I have been working on as a test.
Cheers,
Jake
A black and white shot of a 4'x3' Normandy Village I am currently constructing. This diorama is largely inspired by an incredible diorama Ken built almost 20 years ago which was on display in the MTSC showroom. I remember seeing that diorama when I was in middle school and gawking at it for hours. It's captured my imagination for the better part of two decades so I figured I'd build my own.
A color shot of the same photo. The Sherman is New Ray snap kit I snagged off Ebay for $10, repainted, and added Hudson and Allen mud effects.
