Debrito,

You really do a great dark scene of the fall of Berlin. Reminds me of the kind of imagery that Frank Miller puts in his comics . . . and I mean that as a high compliment.

Thanks Louis, appreciated.

I have a plan to create a kind of small magazine-book... who knows

have a good night.

Best regards.

Nice authentic looking battle scene. Nice picture Rog. John

These are all gems. My favorite is the wounded German in front of the car. That is some picture. Yes you should put these together as a book. A number of years ago, a big-time art photographer named David Levinthal published a book called "Hitler Moves East". It used toy soldiers to depict the German advance into Russia. Used copies sell for megabucks. He does most of his photos using toys. He has also done a book using toy cowboys and Indians too. Here are 2 of his works: Like you he likes to work with light and shadow. His figures are more toy-like however. Randy
1. From Hitler Moves East
2. From Mein Kampf

Randy: I have the orginal hardback of a book "Hitler Moves East" by Paul Carrell.
1941-43 1964 edition by George G. Harrap & co. LTD. This is one of my favorite books and read it several times. He has a few other books written and I would like to find them. I never read so many first person accounts and information on the Eastern Front fighting. The book was translated from German .

I have been thinking something like that for a wild, something related to comic book, but not comic at all. Tell a little history related to the end of the Third Reich and the fight against the Soviets. But I have a lot work to do….

Randy and John, thanks for taking the time to share this idea.

Cheers

Rod.

Your work is the most refreshing I have seen since I have been involved with this hobby. I like your style it is very intriguing. Absolute realism, down and dirty, that is the way i like it. Alex

Thanks Alex, I am glad that you liked my style. I'm now on the construction mood; I started a few blocs (damaged façades) on my Berlin Dio. I will bring more pictures soon.

Have a good weekend

Cheers and thanks again.

debrito awesome job as always. I agree with Alex on the realism of your buildings. I'm still a rookie at this foam building stuff, but I'm improveing every year. I hope to get that bombed out realism you have with time. Keep up the great work. Mike:)

The Germans of all ages continue to fight, more aggressive than ever, they were the last helpless hope to save the Capital….

There is another great book using toy soldiers about The Battle of Arnhem, it's all done using 1/72nd scale figures, vehicles and terrain. Some of the pictures are incredible, a ton of work went into the book. Too bad it wasn't done using 1/30th scale K & C like the shots of Pandas dioramas, now that would be something.

I know the author of the book and he had plans to do a book on the D-Day landings, but due to slow sales on the Arnhem book, the publishing company pulled the plug on the project, too bad...........

I love that photo of the King Tiger. It could be from a newsreel.
Cheers
H

I would like to add these last three pics (for a moment...) from Berlin 1945.

Cheers

Those close up shots are superb, especially with the photo finish.
Great stuff!
