Dear Froggers;

For many years I'm collecting Toy Soldiers. I'm also a wargamer. For practical reasons, wagaming is limited to the 28 mm size or even smaller.
Now I have discovered new wargame rules, especially suitable for King & Country figures. (A mixture of skirmish & roll playing) These rules are called "Final Combat", published in 2008 and you can find them on the website www.brittonpublishers.com. It's amazing how real all details are worked out. Every action takes in real time just one second. I love the scenarios for the battle of the bulge and it's a great opportunity to bring your static dioramas alive. You also can play solo. A special rulebook for solo wargaming is also published.
I'm wondering how many K&C lovers have found the way to this sort of skirmish wargaming. Last but not least: for your vehicles there is also a special book to let take your tanks and artillery part of the game. It's just super and believe it or not, I'm not one of the PR's for this game: just a customer who has a lot of fun!

Thanks for posting this; the author is actually one of my best K & C customers, he uses K & C WWII figures in all of his games, he has put on some terrific games at the wargaming conventions here in the US using his rules..........

George, is that the group that does all the Eastern front scenarios, using K/C and FOV vehicles ,at Historicon? Michael

Michael,
Those are some other customers of mine, Mike Fatovic, Ed and Rusty Miller and Lee Burger, they do Eastern Front scenarios.

This year at Cold Wars, they are doing Anzio with loads of K & C German airborne and American Infantry.

Most of Ben's games are Normandy related............

The possibilities for wargaming are limitless. This pictures is from Historicon 2006. Warrior is right, we seem to stay with the Normandy stuff. Jürgen

Did you have a similar display set up at Fall In? I remember seeing something there that looked close to that last picture.

No...that wasn't us. We did a 15mm double blind. We're doing two more 15mm double blind games at Cold Wars. It's just easier to transport.

This is another shot of the 2006 Historicon game. It's one of my favorites because of the detail one sees in the King & Country figures. It was part of a counter attack on the U.S. Airborne troops in St. Mere Eglise.

What's the PEL? I have to work Friday & Saturday. Slight chance I might make it there Saturday but probably not. I went last year on Sunday and had the impression I had missed most of the show. The vendors were still set up but seems like more to see on Friday & Saturday.

The PEL is the prelimenary event listing, it is online via the HMGS site and also via the booklets they hand out at the show.

The bulk of the games/vendor sales are over by late Saturday, Sunday is more of a getaway day than anything else..........

The link above will take you to a new Final Combat tutorial video that describes the mechanics for using shoulder fired anti-tank weapons. The 4-minute video is titled "Panzerfaust Ambush" and features a kneeling Grenadier from one of the Fall of Berlin sets that has long since been retired. I hope you enjoy it.

It looks quite interesting but WWII ground combat is not appealing to me. Now if you would start a Napoleonic version.....:cool:
