Well I finally got my first mat WW1 Collection underway today and am mighty pleased with the start^&cool The Trench and figures are really well done and when more is added to this its going to be pretty spectacular. Yes there is a clear gap between Trench and no ones land sections but I hope to fix this ok later on.

Can I ask a question of anyone who has this Trench section, does anyone know where the Trench periscope is meant to go?

Great stuff Rob - i can see it filled with figures! It's great to see you have your enthusiasm back - you just needed a new focus!

Nice photos Rob

Cheers Guys,

James, you are spot on mate. With these and K&C's new Arnhem figs I do feel I got my collecting mojo going again!:salute::

The ACW Little Round top Rocks I ordered are not out until July so they are being sent to me then.

Ken if you read this could we please have some dead WW1 casualties, sad but a realistic need for a Somme dio.

Great gets, Rob. Nice pictures, too. Gives me a real close look at the trench sections and they look really good. Britains is doing a great service with all the trench sections and all those purpose-made figures to go with them. "Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts..." -- Al

Thanks Al, I do agree in that these sets are just so good and very welcome. As I said in another thread I'm going to put these trench sections and figures all in a cabinet for display purposes and build myself a dio from scratch for the figures too.

Thanks for posting Al.

Rob,
Good choice although a logical one for you. A good series, particularly for UK collectors.

There are two trench sections and presumably you got the sniper pit version which is 51014. In your image it looks like your pointing Corporal is opposite where the Sniper goes. The guy with the periscope comes with the sniper and I guess is designed to stand next to him with his periscope popping up over top.

Will you be going for complete trench system as not going to fit on a shelf and may need its own table ?

Hi Brett,

Thanks mate, yes I guess no big surprise me collecting this!:salute::

Yes I got the sniper pit version but did not set up the pit for pic for some reason:rolleyes2: Yes you must be right about the sniper set, but there is also a spare larger looking periscope that comes with the trench, but you are probably right in that it also must sit near this pit along with the figure with periscope in hand. Maybe I'll just affix it to the side of trench with some adhesive.

I have a cabinet that stores my Toy Army workshop collection that will take two-possibly three trench sections , so I will use this to ' house' quite a few figures . But I will also get the other sections as my (and I can't write this word big enough) WONDERFULLY understanding wife has agreed in principle to us turning the garage into a display room for my K&C/TAW/Britains items at some point in the future. So it will be a case of buy and store most trench sections until I can put them out there and play with them....I mean display them all!^&grin:wink2:

Thanks for posting Brett

Rob,
What a great set of purchases! They look really great, and while its not my area of interest they are AMAZING to look upon. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to future add ons.

It would be really neat if somehow, you could get a JJD aircraft flying over the trenches.

Thanks Sammy. Can't wait to add more figures and trench sections as I go, hope to build up quite a force over time.

Cheers
