First Legion & Figarti (1 Viewer)

Here are some better photos, from some different angles. From a photographic point of view, I think the first one with the flash came out the best. The others I didn't use the flash. Please forgive the mess in the background.

Frank V. may disagree ;) but I do think they work well together, particularly when viewed in light of Terry's photo. This was obviously a massive tank and the use of the First Legion figure highlights this, at least in my opinion.

Regarding the figures and the tank, I think they're exceptional. I probably won't buy any more until Chicago but I will probably get a few from George then. The Figarti tank, like many models, looks even better in person.

Thanks for posting these Brad. I agree with you, I think the figures look good together with the ISU-152.

I have measured known objects such as rifles and MGs on the FL figures and they come pretty close to 1/30 so provided the vehicle, regardless of manufacturer, is 1/30 they should work together.

I think part of the problem is we've become so accustomed to oversize figures accompanying the vehicles that more appropriately proportioned figures look undersize now. The solution, as Terry has shown, is to compare to actual pictures.

Terry I am signed up on photobucket and have downloaded the photo....What's next step

Vezzolf,
I have a hotmail account and by simply attaching the photos to an email and sending them to myself they are automatically shunk to a size that will fit on the forum.

I hope you mean "uploaded" to Photobucket??

Under each picture you upload will be several categories and address boxes. You need only 2 of the categories.

If you are posting to the Forum, use IMG Code Just copy the address and paste it into your post wherever you want the photo to be.

If you are using e-mail or a PM, use the Email & IM address inserted in your e-mail or PM.

Yes, I think that is a common problem on such comparisons and an appropriate solution.

http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/...ion Photos/FigartiAFVvsFirstLegionSize004.jpg.......This is a photo I have taken with Figarti's JS-2 Tank along with FL Stalingrad Soviets and K/C soviet soldiers....To make a comparison of all three...Neither one fits very well....But I guess Figarti's AFV would fit very well with Figarti Soldiers.....FL seems a bit small to me with this Tank...and K/C is a bit large.....What is the general concenses??

If you mix FL and K&C WW2 figures in the same scene, the FL figures will look very small - not just height but by volume too. It's the difference in volume that makes the eye see a huge difference.

This another picture which I took....In order to make comparisons.....Neither one seems to look right to me but K/C soldiers are closer to Figarti soldiers in size.....That's what I percieve....Maybe I'm wrong but that is my perception

That's because you have both FL and K&C in the same photo - the difference is emphasized. You can use figures from FL or K&C but not both at the same time.

Terry

Which is preferable in your opinion?....I seem to favor K/C Soviets with this Tank....since K/C figures are closer in size to the Figarti tank commander...Paint however does not match well

In order for the FL figures to look OK you would need to remove all other figures including the commander in the top hatch. It is simply too distracting to have figures that are so volumetrically and stylistically different in the same scene.

I agree with Frank. It seems to be the figures that are not fitting so well together.

Scale are too diferent to be put side by side. FL goes along with FL only.

I'm not generally not a big proponent of mixing manufacturers products....I would much rather have an FL T-34 Tank to go with FL soldiers that way there is no second guessing scale and style...but to each there own....This is of course only my opinion but I would rather wait for FL's Soviet Tank to match up with their Soviet Soldiers....

Well I think you have to be more specific. For figure scale only FL and Britains are the same scale for the lines I have or have compared. For figures and vehicles, you have to do the exercise that Terry and Frank suggested.

These real JS-2 photos are not as helpful as Terry's but they suggest the same result to me. Relatively, the FL figures appear closest in size when placed near the tank.

Agreed...Removing the commander figure does help somewhat...

I'm hoping there some Russian armour coming in our future, one anti-tank gun against Stugs/Panzers is fighting a losing battle:) and I'm sure there will be plans to make it a even fight soon...Sammy
