First Legion Sneak Preview - Panzer III J (Late) (1 Viewer)

Nice job Matt! Would have preferred a Panzer IV, but hey, anyone that makes the "early war" AFV's in grey is OK by me!

I also am looking forward to the release of a "Grey Panzer IV short gun barrel"; that would be a hot item especially if made with 3 figures similar to the Tamiya 1:35 scale model which I have modeled......Hopefully we will see this released soon.

My general feeling is that all your First Legion Stalingrad figures all seem to have stepted directly out of the photos in "Angriff" and this Pz III is no exceptpion! I can only echo what has been said earlier - a great looking vehicle and from the 24 Pz as well. Roll on its release. Will the crew member will have cavalry waffenfarbe rather than Pz to reflect the units cavalry lineage?

Good question , I would think that members of the Armored Recon Abteilung should have yellow waffenfarben on the tabs, boards, and cap . I'm not sure if they ever made a Wrapper with yellow waffenfarbe around the collar .I may have seen one in all my years of collecting but cant remember about the collar , but the recon Wrapper is a truly scarce one indeed . Thanks Graycap. Interestingly enough, despite our many reference materials, the single most important book in determining the contents of the start of our range has been "Island of Fire" also by Mark/Leaping Horsemen. In fact, I was reading it again just today and I don't think it has been on the bookshelf in nearly a year. Rather, it's in my briefcase, on my nightstand, in my office, or (forgive me for sharing too much!) in the bathroom. When designing the range I was heavily influenced by the descriptions of the the attacks on the Commissar's House and Apotheke. In fact, that is 100% where I got the idea for GERSTAL009 Combat Pioneer Demolition team.

As for the final uniform details of the Panzer III tank commander upcoming, that hasn't been finalized yet and, for the most part, I leave such decisions up to my partner. So I guess we'll both find out in due time!

Best,

Matt

I Really like this model Panzer, and the greyish color, since most of my previous collections of tanks had some type of camo color, this will be totally different, looking forward to getting all 3 german vehicles this year, I'm surprised that there hasn't been more discussion on this Panzer III?? oh well, looks great to me...Sammy

Any update on possible release date for this one ? Or maybe new photo's of completed version ? All the best Gebhard

Dave

Matt, Any new word or pics on the Panzer III finished product??...Sammy

Matt, Are there any up-dates or release info on the Panzer III?

Nope (well, other than the crew figure for it being shown in the category image of the "Tank Crew" section of our online catalog - it's the one looking through the binoculars).

Right now the focus is on Samurai, Nap Russians, DAK 232, restock of Stugs, the new Stalingrad sets, and our American Revolution range. We'll give updates on the Panzer III later as it gets closer to pre-order and subsequent release.
