Hi all,

Here are just some pictures I've taken of some of my Aeroart pieces next to FL figures I like a lot. As you can see, sculpting is identical. You can see in some of the pictures that the russians have the edge when speaking of heraldry, smoothness of the highlighting and shading. But the Aeroart pieces do cost at least twice more (new of course). For me I like both manufacturers and yes I do think that FL is edge cutting in many ways. They gave us true russian sculpting quality with a very nice paint job at a great price point. Oh and I love that Kolobob piece. Superb !

Enjoy !

ALEX very well stated.FL gives a great bang for the dollar.I mix them with my Russian figures all the time and it works. You are also right in i love Aeroart but the Kolobob figures are just a little better.Happy Holidays TO you and yours.Mike B.

Some of those pieces are amazing Alex. I assume the blue coated one is Aeroart; features are very distinct.

Yes Blue coated figure is cossack general Platov made for Aeroart
Last picture is of a Kolobob knight
Green guards are russian palace guards made for Aeroart. Very nice figures and very similar to First Legion french old guards.
Saladin is a Aeroart one.
i know that it would be very expensive and increase a lot the price of FL mounted figures but suggesting hair on horses like you can see on the Aeroart one in the background would be awesome.

Hi Alex ,
Nice collection , Thanks for sharing . Of course you know your preaching to the choir as they say :wink2: , First Legion are a very serious threat to Aeroart dollars for sure , that's why they have joined forces with figarti . I will always collect Aeroart figures but i must say since First Legion came along they have been getting fewer and fewer of my dollars ( Sorry Mr Thor... your still the man ).
Were I think First Legion has the edge is the amount of figures offered in each release , with 15 to 20 different sculpts for most Regiments your able to build displays just not possible with Aeroart . And also they are producing units I love that Aeroart just don't offer .

The best compliment you can offer FL is the fact you can put them next to Aeroart figures and not have them look ridiculous . I'm not taking a shot at FL but they are no way painted better then the newer Aeroart figures , but with the newer figures hitting $125.00 to $165.00 for foot figures and mounted figures around $ 400.00 . At $50 or $60 for foot and $140.00 for mounted figures First legion are a Great choice for the working man who just wants to have nice figures .
Maybe this thread should be called First Legion and Aeroart :wink2: .. Thanks for sharing your photo's Regards Gebhard

Well said. There is no doubt that FL has done a superb job in carving out their niche in the toy soldier market and differentiating themselves from their competitors. In the colourful historical era's of Ancients and Napoleonics they truly stand out. Keep up the great work. :smile2:

Great pics of a great collection Alex! Thanks for sharing. The FL figures do indeed look great alongside Aeroart.
