As you know, our Workbench that we show on our site makes us a bit different than the other toy soldier makers who tend to keep an extremely close guard on everything that they do. This is with good reason of course, as it prevents competitors from potentially taking your ideas and running with them as well as possibly prevents customers from buying today's product opting to instead wait for future product. As such, we've slowed down quite a bit what we show on our workbench unfortunately and have literally dozens of new sculpts that have been done that aren't up there that will never get there and instead we'll just announce one day that they are available for purchase. However, we really like the concept and feel it provides customers the assurance that the items that they want or that we've said are coming are indeed coming, which is important for us as a new company. Plus, we feel that our figures are really second to none, so while they may be imitated, they'll never be replicated. :D So we're keeping it around and will continue to show new product on there from time to time.

As such, I've just put a few images of two of our latest Napoleon's Europe sculpts up there that will be available in the spring sometime for purchase. Go and check them out, I think you Napoleonic buffs out there will be quite pleased with them!

Matt

:eek::eek::eek:

Those are some seriously wicked figures Matt. I think they maybe your best yet !!!! I would swear but this is a family forum. LOL Great stuff

If you ever got into ceremonial figures you would definately have my money !!

Thanks guys, we thought they'd please.

Out of curiosity and showing my complete lack of interest and awareness of anything beyond the tip of my nose, what is a "ceremonial" figure anyway? Are we talking like K&C Leibstandarte figures or marching band type figures? What would be a good example of a Napoleonic Ceremonial set of figures, an Old Guard Band or something?

Just wondering.

Along those lines Matt, I was thinking more like the Lifeguards & the Blue & Royals from the UK they would look sweet on those horses. Or perhaps a nice mounted band :) (If there was such a thing in Napoleonic times(not my era sorry)

Great work anyway And I always like to look in and see whats new and give credit where credit is due.

Wow! Fantastic sculpts!

If there was a ranking, it would be difficult to dispute the No1 rank for Napoleonics from First Legion. No doubt!

Those are indeed impressive.:cool: I do hope you all do continue using your workshop and providing at least some preliminary view of some portion of your sculpts for up coming lines. It also can encourage, as it did me some time back, collectors interested in those periods to wait for your releases rather than committing to a similar release from a competitor. In the end, I think more advance information is a better marketing tool than secrecy is a defense against potential imitation. I think that is particular true for the FL figures, which as you correctly note, cannot be simply replicated.;):D

I also hope we will be seeing some more action figures for the French and British lines, like those that have been shown (or released ;)) for Westphalia, Russia, Nassau and Brunswick. There are some great looking poses there that I hope we can get for the British / French confrontations.;);)

Can you give us any idea as to when these two new mounted generals will be avaiable for purchase?

Sorry, I just re-read your orginal message, you said sometime in the Spring. I was in too much of a hurry to go the First Legion website for a look so didn't finish reading your whole message.

It certainly gives us something to look forward to. As someone told me just recently, "So many figures, so little time"

I envy the active Napoleonic collectors with all of these excellent looking figures in the works. Lots of great looking stuff on that work bench. Well done, Matt and crew.

Now at risk of being branded a smart aleck........."but why haven't those Russians got any plumes?"

I most sincerely apologize for that last comment.....just could not help myself.

Thanks for sharing the works in progress and I agree the sneak peaks are a most welcome touch. :)

Thanks MD.

As for our Russian infantry, ahh, but they DO have plumes. At least the ones that are supposed to have them! Our Russian infantry sculpts cover all types of Russian infantry, but with the exception of that one figure loading, we're just showing Russian Line infantry on our workbench!
