Hi Folks,

Here is a view of the raw sculpt of our forthcoming release, first announced in March of this year at the LTSS, of what we believe is / was a first for this period of conflict.

This is currently with our master painter and once I have it back I will add more images for you all.

Hope you like what you see :salute::

Some are born to lead, some are born to follow :)

Wonderful castings! Would that mine were as good . . .

Thank you Al!

I do strongly believe that it is the quality of the master sculpt in Pewter combined with using a top class mould making service that enables our figures to look so good.

Glad you approve :salute::

What was first, the dog? I think you'll find the German army was also using them as in this figure I made a few years ago. They also used them in an attack roll but I don't believe they used them as much as the Belgians in harness. http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?54637-Heritage-Jager-medic-with-dog

Not that I feel I should need to justify the post, but I would like to say that I believe that this is the first matte figure depicting a wounded combatant of any nation receiving suker / treatment from a first aid dog, but I stand to be corrected (as always).

In my 7 or so years of collecting I have not seen another Red Cross dog figure but again, I stand to be corrected if I "missed" it.

It is estimated that 10,000 Red Cross dogs were used in WW1 and by ALL nationalities. The Belgians did indeed use the dog in harness but, after capturing Belgian dogs, so did the Germans. The BEF also used dogs in harness. The use of dogs in a military capacity goes back thousands of years and across many Empires.

Some are born to lead, some are born to follow.
We believe we are the masters over our pets / animals but, as action of this kind shows, they are more often the leaders and instruct US to follow.........

What we believe is / was for this period of conflict.
Is, as explained, was = this war was the first time Red Cross / medical dogs had been used in conflict to my knowledge.

And with regards to the question, what was first, the dog? I am still pondering if it was the chicken or the egg to be honest {sm4}

I'm sorry I thought you were saying that the Belgians were the first to use dogs!
