I haven't collected Frontline before but I noticed they recently but out a FIW line. They look great and there are some very unique sets. Has any purchased any of these? I would love to see some pics if possible.

I don't collect them, but these are the photos I have taken at various London shows....

Those are all great looking figures.
Thanks for posting your pictures again, Jeff.
Your photos from various London Shows prove like a valuable archive here on the forum.

Yes thanks so much for the photos. If I give in to temptation I just may make a purchase or 2.
What was your personal impression of their quality given that you were at the show Jeff?

I have bought 3 sets Frontline, Montcalm & Officers,
Wolfe & Officers, and 1 dead Indian set and they fit well with
John Jenkins sets.

Michael,

They seem to be very nicely finished from what I can remember, whether or not that they fit in with other makes I couldn't say.

I believe the size is 60mm. I do own many of the Indian sets and the one artillery set. I love them all. I plan on getting many more of the other FIW sets soon. I have seen them in person several times and think are very well done. You will not be disappointed by collecting them!!

I do have a good number of the Royal Roussilon sets and both the British and French officer sets. I am fond of these Royal Roussilon. The officer sets are outstanding. Although likely illegal, the Frontline "Wolfe" figure is my "George Washington" on my BoM shelf - tall, red coat ..... it works!!!

Actually, many of the Royal Roussilon are reasonable accurate depictions of grenadiers, but they are not marketed that way. I think the large stamped cartridge case and the "moustache" identify those figures as grenadiers.

One of the british officers in the Wolfe set is an artillery officer, so great for those artillery scenes and dioramas. Took me months to figure that he wasn't in the British Navy.

Some of the 42nd figures are tempting.

I believe the poses at least on the British officers are derived very closely from a drawing in one of the Osprey Texts (I think the volume, Wolfe's Army). I haven't got any as I don't know if their hats are quite accurate.I thought they wore tricornes .The Montcalm figure is wearing a tricorne as his staff. The British are also wearing tricornes.I did see a picture of a Frenchman wearing a the type Frontline uses but that could have been an artist rendition.

Macro,

To clarify, I am thinking that many of the Royal Roussilon figures are actually grenadiers in tricorns. The cartridge boxes and the moustaches are the identifying characteristics. These were first released several years ago, but are not marketed as grenadiers by Frontline. These are the figures I really like - high level of SNAZZY. They make a very attractive firing line and display.

I was not referring to the recent La Reine grenadier release.

The set IFW.1 (4 figures loading and firing) is a good example. Well sculpted figures. Near the bottom of the page.
